TechInnovation 2025, organised by IPI Singapore, opened its doors on 29 October at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, bringing together an expected 4,000 attendees from over 40 countries. Running until 31 October, the three-day event features 100 emerging technology offerings across artificial intelligence, HealthTech, sustainability, circular food innovation, and advanced manufacturing.
Strengthening cross-border collaboration
At the opening ceremony, Alvin Tan, Minister of State for the Ministry of Trade and Industry and the Ministry of National Development, highlighted the event’s role in advancing Singapore’s innovation ecosystem. “Over the past 13 years, TechInnovation has become a trusted marketplace for technology adoption and business transformation, hosting more than 30,000 participants and showcasing over 3,000 technologies from around the world. It has generated countless partnerships and success stories for our enterprises,” he said.
This year’s edition spotlighted cross-border partnerships with the signing of two strategic Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs). IPI Singapore renewed its agreement with Panasonic R&D Centre Singapore to strengthen co-development projects and industry collaborations. It also formalised a new partnership with KILSA Global, which focuses on supporting South Korean companies expanding internationally. The agreement aims to boost co-innovation and technology transfer for Singapore-based firms while reinforcing Singapore’s role as Southeast Asia’s innovation gateway.
A trusted platform for SMEs
TechInnovation continues to serve as a launchpad for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) seeking global partnerships. Following the success of last year’s 11 collaborations, such as those between urban farming company Sustenir and solar panel recycler EtaVolt, the 2025 event welcomes a mix of returning and first-time participants.
This year, 89% of exhibitors have returned, including the Embassy of Finland, Kansai Startup Academia Coalition (KSAC), and Hong Kong Science & Technology Parks Corporation (HKSTP), signalling strong confidence in TechInnovation’s value as a collaborative platform. New exhibitors like Hanyang University ERICA, Co-Efficient Alpha, and ACTXA further highlight Singapore’s growing appeal as a regional hub for innovation-driven enterprises.
Michael Goh, CEO of IPI Singapore, noted the importance of empowering businesses through the event. “TechInnovation enables SMEs to make confident moves, access global partners, adopt the right technologies, and take the next step in their growth journey,” he said.
Expanding innovation support and advisory
In line with its goal of driving technology adoption and commercialisation, IPI Singapore has expanded its Innovation Advisory sessions at this year’s event. The number of sessions has more than doubled, giving participants practical guidance to identify new opportunities, refine go-to-market strategies, and scale effectively.
TechInnovation 2025 remains open to enterprises, SMEs, and innovation leaders looking to discover practical solutions and explore international collaboration opportunities.
