Razer introduces Wolverine V3 Pro with faster triggers and eSports features for gamers

Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, available now for S$299, offers faster triggers, durable joysticks, and esports features for Xbox and PC gaming.

Razer has introduced its latest wireless controller, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro, designed specifically for Xbox and PC gamers. Marketed as a wireless esports controller, it’s tailored for players who want every possible advantage in fast-paced multiplayer games.

This controller is officially licensed by Xbox, displaying both the Xbox and Razer logos on the front. It features the familiar offset joystick layout and ABXY buttons on regular Xbox controllers. However, the Wolverine V3 Pro includes a few upgrades, making it ideal for competitive gaming. The rubberised grips extend to the back, where four back paddles are designed for quick access with your middle and ring fingers. Razer calls these “mouse click back paddles,”  meaning the paddles have a short, fast travel distance, similar to a mouse button click. This helps ensure rapid activation during intense gameplay.

Faster triggers for competitive play

One standout feature is the ability to change the triggers for quicker response times. You can flip a switch on the back of the controller, adjusting the triggers from the usual analogue feel (with a long press distance) to a quick, mouse-like click. This instant response can be a game-changer when timing is crucial, such as when firing weapons or dodging attacks.

The bumpers also share this rapid-fire function, making both the triggers and bumpers capable of ultra-fast actions. This feature is perfect for competitive gamers needing precise, split-second input during matches.

For improved durability, the Wolverine V3 Pro’s joysticks are equipped with Hall Effect sensors, which are less prone to wear and tear than traditional joystick sensors. This helps reduce the risk of “stick drift,” a common problem with regular controllers. The controller also uses a USB-A dongle for a low-latency, 2.4GHz wireless connection to your Xbox or PC, ensuring faster input response during gameplay.

Wired mode for optimal performance

If you’re playing on a PC, you can take things a step further by switching to wired mode, which enables a 1000Hz polling rate. Polling rate refers to how frequently data is sent between your PC and the controller. With a higher rate, your inputs are processed faster, giving you a competitive edge, especially in fast-paced games.

With its advanced features, the Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is a premium option for gamers looking to upgrade their current controller. It even comes with a carrying case, additional joystick caps, the USB-A dongle, and a cable for wired play. However, for S$299, it’s one of the more expensive controllers on the market, even surpassing the cost of the Xbox Elite Series 2, which retails for S$255. If you’re serious about competitive gaming, the Wolverine V3 Pro may be worth the investment.

The Razer Wolverine V3 Pro is now available directly from Razer’s website.
