Sony launches 2025 “Chase the World, As You See It” photography and filmmaking contest

Sony’s 2025 “Chase the World, As You See It” contest invites global creators to explore six themes and win prizes, including a G Master lens.

Sony has launched the 2025 edition of its popular “Chase the World, As You See It” photography and filmmaking contest, inviting creators worldwide to explore fresh perspectives and push the limits of visual storytelling. Running from 6 October 2025 to 30 January 2026, the campaign encourages participants to share their unique view of the world and compete across six creative categories.

New category encourages deeper visual storytelling

This year’s competition introduces a new category, Chase the Vision, curated by acclaimed architectural photographer Darren Soh. The theme challenges participants to look beyond the obvious and uncover hidden narratives within everyday spaces, examining how light, form and perspective can transform the ordinary into striking visual stories.

“Chase the Vision is about studying how light falls on the spaces we inhabit. Every building tells a story waiting to be discovered, and photography uncovers those hidden narratives,” said Darren Soh.

Alongside the new theme, the contest features five returning categories: Chase Speed, Chase the Wild, Chase Emotions, Chase Light and Chase the Unknown. Each category is judged by a respected creative professional, ensuring a diverse showcase of talent. Themes range from capturing fleeting motion and raw encounters with nature to immortalising human connections and exploring uncharted territory.

Attractive prizes for winning entries

Participants stand to win prizes including Sony’s premium G Master lens of their choice and Klook e-gift cards. The grand winner will receive a G Master lens and a S$1,000 Klook e-gift card. Each of the six theme winners will take home a S$500 Sony voucher and a S$500 Klook e-gift card, while 12 judges’ picks will receive S$200 Sony vouchers and S$100 Klook e-gift cards.

The contest is open to participants aged 18 and above who are lawfully residing in Singapore. To enter, creators must post photos or videos of up to 60 seconds on Instagram using a Sony Alpha camera and lens. Each entry should feature one theme and be accompanied by a caption explaining how the image or video relates to the chosen category. Participants must tag @sonysingapore and include #ChaseTheWorld2025, #GMaster, the theme hashtag (e.g. #ChaseTheWild) and #KlookSG. Profiles must be set to public to qualify.

Submissions must be original and created within the past 12 months. Winners will be chosen by Sony and the judging panel, with announcements sent via Instagram direct message by 2 March 2026.

Partnership with Klook to inspire travel and creativity

Sony has partnered with travel and experiences platform Klook to make the contest even more rewarding. Klook’s top spenders in October will stand a chance to win a Sony Alpha 7 IV full-frame hybrid camera with lens and two creator cameras worth S$2,575. This collaboration aims to inspire travellers to capture and share their adventures, turning moments into compelling stories for the contest.

The “Chase the World, As You See It” campaign reflects Sony’s commitment to empowering creators to see the world differently and tell authentic stories through imagery and film.
