TerraMaster F4-425 Pro brings AI controls to four-bay NAS storage
TerraMaster launches the F4-425 Pro NAS with TOS 7 AI controls, Intel N350 performance and a 4+3 hybrid storage design.
TerraMaster has launched the F4-425 Pro, a network-attached storage device built on its new TOS 7 operating system and aimed at creative teams, photographers and small businesses managing large files and shared storage.

The F4-425 Pro is TerraMaster’s first AI-powered NAS. Its main software change is the use of natural language control, with TOS 7 designed to let users handle more than 90% of complex NAS configurations through text commands. The company said the operating system was developed over more than 300 days and integrates AI across the system, from the kernel to the interface.
TOS 7 reduces setup friction
NAS devices are often used by teams that need shared storage, local backup and controlled access to large files, but setup can be difficult for users without technical storage experience. TerraMaster is positioning TOS 7 as a way to reduce that learning curve by allowing users to manage common configuration tasks through an AI assistant.
The F4-425 Pro supports one-click installation of OpenClaw, an open-source project that enables text-based control of system settings, file management and backups. TerraMaster is also adding automation tools for photo backup and organisation, 4K media resource fetching, scheduled task management and 24/7 AI-powered security patrol.
The security feature monitors system activity and alerts users to unusual behaviour, according to TerraMaster. For small teams without dedicated IT support, the broader aim is to make storage administration less dependent on manual configuration.
Hybrid storage design combines HDD and NVMe capacity
The F4-425 Pro is powered by an Intel N350 8-core processor and 16GB of DDR5 memory. TerraMaster says the system is designed for 8K video transcoding, large-scale media workflows and demanding business use.
Its storage design combines four HDD bays with three M.2 NVMe SSD slots. The device supports up to 152TB of total capacity, based on four 32TB hard drives and three 8TB SSDs. The M.2 SSDs can be configured with TRAID or RAID 5, giving users options for caching, storage tiering or primary data.
The hybrid layout is the device’s clearest hardware distinction. Hard drives provide bulk capacity for media libraries, archives and business data, while the NVMe slots give teams a faster storage layer for more demanding workloads. That mix may appeal to smaller studios and production teams that need capacity and speed in a single desktop NAS.
The F4-425 Pro supports NTFS, APFS, exFAT, EXT4 and FAT32 file systems, with compatibility across macOS, Windows and Linux. That makes it suitable for mixed-device environments where teams may be moving files across different operating systems.
Pricing and availability
The TerraMaster F4-425 Pro is available for £639.99 on Amazon UK and US$799.99 on Amazon US. It is also available through Terra-Master.com.
TerraMaster is currently offering a 20% launch discount from 23 June. With this product, the company is targeting the device at media teams, photographers and small to medium-sized businesses that need high-capacity storage, automated file management and more accessible NAS controls.
