ASUS expands Strix OLED line with three 27-inch QHD gaming monitors
ASUS introduces three 27-inch QHD Strix OLED monitors with WOLED and QD-OLED panels, targeting different gaming performance tiers.
ASUS Republic of Gamers has introduced three new 27-inch QHD OLED gaming monitors under its Strix series, adding the XG27AQDMG Gen2, XG27ACDMS, and XG27AQDMES to its existing lineup. The new models focus on extending OLED display performance into a more accessible segment while retaining features typically associated with higher-end ROG monitors.
Table Of Content
All three monitors share a 27-inch 1440p resolution and 0.03ms grey-to-grey response time, with refresh rates ranging from 240Hz to 280Hz depending on the model. The lineup splits across two panel technologies, with the XG27AQDMG Gen2 using a TrueBlack Glossy WOLED panel, while the XG27ACDMS and XG27AQDMES adopt semi-glossy QD-OLED panels.
Panel options and performance differences
The XG27AQDMG Gen2 is positioned as the higher brightness WOLED option, delivering up to 1300 nits peak brightness alongside VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black certification. It targets users prioritising contrast and highlight performance, particularly in mixed lighting environments.
The XG27ACDMS shifts towards higher refresh rates, offering 280Hz on a QD-OLED panel with up to 1000 nits peak brightness. This model is oriented towards competitive gaming scenarios where motion clarity and responsiveness are prioritised.
The XG27AQDMES provides a more entry-level QD-OLED option within the lineup, maintaining a 240Hz refresh rate but with a lower peak brightness of 400 nits. It focuses on delivering core OLED characteristics such as colour depth and contrast at a lower price point.
Across the range, all models support a 99% DCI-P3 colour gamut and 10-bit colour output, with factory pre-calibration and accompanying reports included.
Shared features across the range
The monitors incorporate ASUS OLED Care Pro, a protection suite designed to reduce burn-in risk. A key component is the Neo Proximity sensor, which automatically dims the screen when no user is detected. Detection distance can be adjusted through software.
Additional features include Extreme Low Motion Blur (ELMB) to reduce ghosting, OLED Anti-Flicker technology to stabilise visuals during frame rate changes, and aspect ratio controls that allow users to switch to smaller display formats such as 24.5-inch for esports use.
Display settings and profiles can be managed through ASUS DisplayWidget Center, which allows adjustments directly within Windows. The monitors also include AI-based features such as Dynamic Shadow Boost for improved visibility in dark scenes and a dynamic crosshair that adjusts colour based on background contrast.
Each model is equipped with an ergonomic stand offering tilt, swivel, and height adjustments, along with ongoing firmware update support.
Connectivity, pricing and availability
Connectivity varies slightly between models. The XG27AQDMG Gen2 includes DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.1 ports, and a USB hub. The XG27ACDMS adds USB-C with 15W power delivery alongside DisplayPort and HDMI, while the XG27AQDMES includes DisplayPort and dual HDMI 2.1 ports.
In Singapore, the XG27AQDMG Gen2 is priced at S$839, the XG27ACDMS at S$919, and the XG27AQDMES at S$729. All three monitors are backed by a three-year warranty.
