DJI teases dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4P gimbal for advanced creators
DJI has teased the dual-camera Osmo Pocket 4P, featuring advanced video tools and upgraded mobile filmmaking capabilities.
DJI has previewed a new version of its pocket-sized camera gimbal, the Osmo Pocket 4P, featuring a dual-camera system for both wide-angle and portrait shooting. The teaser confirms long-running rumours that the company was developing a more advanced version of its Pocket series aimed at content creators and filmmakers.
Table Of Content
The image released by DJI shows a larger device than the existing Osmo Pocket 4, featuring two separate camera modules mounted above a compact three-axis gimbal. One camera appears to use a 1-inch sensor paired with a wide-angle lens, while the second includes a 3x zoom lens intended for closer shots and more flexible framing.
DJI described the product as a major step forward for mobile filmmaking. The company said: “Built for advanced creators who demand more from their cinematic visual storytelling, DJI will launch the Osmo Pocket 4P — a revolutionary pocket-sized gimbal equipped with a dual-camera system — in 2026.”
It added: “Offering flexible focal length coverage for seamless adaptation across diverse shooting scenarios, the Osmo Pocket 4P combines powerful upgraded hardware with boundless creative possibilities to usher in a new era of mobile cinematography.”
Leaks point to major camera upgrades
Although DJI has not officially confirmed detailed specifications, a series of recent leaks has provided a clearer picture of what users may expect from the device. Reports suggest the Osmo Pocket 4P could support 4K video recording at up to 240 frames per second, placing it among the more capable compact cameras aimed at professional creators and enthusiasts.
The leaks also indicate the device may offer 14 stops of dynamic range along with 10-bit D-Log colour support. These features are commonly used by filmmakers who require greater flexibility during colour grading and post-production. DJI is also expected to include Hasselblad colour tuning, continuing a partnership that has already appeared in some of the company’s drone cameras.
Storage could also see a significant improvement. The Osmo Pocket 4P is rumoured to include up to 128GB of built-in storage, reducing reliance on external memory cards for everyday shooting. This would be particularly useful for travel creators and vloggers seeking a compact, all-in-one setup.
The device is also expected to retain several features introduced with the standard Osmo Pocket 4. These include a three-axis mechanical gimbal for smoother footage, updated ActiveTrack subject tracking and a flip-out touchscreen display. Together, these additions suggest DJI is positioning the new model as a premium version of its portable camera range rather than a simple refresh.
New model likely to carry a higher price
DJI has not provided any pricing details or a launch date beyond confirming a release window in 2026. However, industry observers expect the Osmo Pocket 4P to cost considerably more than the standard Pocket 4 because of its dual-camera setup and expanded recording capabilities.
The addition of a second camera sensor and enhanced video features could position the product closer to professional compact cameras than to entry-level content creation tools. This may appeal to creators looking for lightweight equipment that can produce cinematic footage without carrying larger camera systems.
Availability in the United States also remains uncertain. DJI products have faced growing regulatory pressure in recent years, particularly regarding telecommunications and national security concerns. These issues could affect how quickly the Osmo Pocket 4P reaches the US market, if it launches there at all.
Despite those concerns, DJI continues to maintain a strong position in the consumer drone and camera industry, especially among independent filmmakers, travel creators and social media producers seeking compact equipment with advanced features.
DJI challenges FCC listing in the United States
The teaser arrives during an ongoing dispute between DJI and US regulators. The company recently confirmed that it is appealing its inclusion on the Federal Communications Commission’s covered list, which restricts certain telecommunications and technology products in the United States.
According to DJI, the appeal was filed in February 2026. The company argued that the decision lacked due process and said it is now seeking support from customers and businesses affected by the ruling.
DJI stated that the FCC is accepting public feedback on the matter until 11 May. The company has encouraged US drone users to submit comments explaining how DJI products affect their businesses and daily operations.
The regulatory challenge adds uncertainty to DJI’s future in one of the world’s largest technology markets. While the Osmo Pocket series is separate from the company’s drone business, broader restrictions could still influence distribution, availability and partnerships in the region.
For now, DJI appears focused on building anticipation around the Osmo Pocket 4P as it prepares for a launch next year. With dual cameras, upgraded imaging technology and advanced recording features, the device is expected to target creators seeking more professional tools in a compact format.
