Huat pals return to Google Pay for Chinese New Year celebration

Celebrate Chinese New Year with Google Pay's Huat Pals event, offering in-app rewards and a chance to win prizes.

Google Pay returns its popular Huat Pals feature just in time for the Chinese New Year festivities from February 6 to February 18. This exciting event allows users to collect various in-app rewards and even win attractive prizes, including scratch cards worth up to S$88.88 or devices from Google’s Pixel family.

Exciting new features await you

This year, users can anticipate the debut of a brand-new in-app game called Huat Match. In this game, players must match auspicious icons within a limited number of moves to win rewards. Additionally, users can test their knowledge with Huat Trivia or scan Chinese New Year items like oranges and paper lanterns with the Huat Scanner to earn special vouchers from local partners such as Irvin’s, Klook, Shopee, ShopBack, and Suntec.

Meet the new Huat pals

Five new adorable Huat Pals — Xixi Haha, Ah Bong, Macho Meow, Hop Pop, and Souper Loong — have been introduced to celebrate the Year of the Dragon. Users can collect these Huat Pals by completing various actions on Google Pay, such as making eligible transactions above S$5, sending money above S$10 to a friend, purchasing movie tickets, or gifting a Huat Pal to a friend.

Once all five Huat Pals are collected, users will unlock the legendary Dragon Dance and stand a chance to win incredible prizes such as scratch cards worth up to S$88.88, a Pixel 8 Pro (worth up to S$1,549), a Pixel 8 (worth up to S$1,099), a pair of Pixel Buds Pro (worth up to S$299), or a pair of Pixel Buds A-Series (worth up to S$149).
