Informatica introduces new AI features to boost cloud data integration and management

[output_post_excerpt]

Informatica has announced a series of generative AI-powered enhancements to its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), aimed at helping enterprises simplify access to AI-ready data, accelerate integration, and drive more reliable outcomes. Unveiled on 2 April, the updates are powered by Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine and are intended to support businesses in scaling their AI initiatives with greater confidence and efficiency.

The new features build on Informatica’s existing AI suite, which includes the CLAIRE engine for metadata-driven automation, CLAIRE Copilot for intelligent assistance, and CLAIRE GPT, a conversational model designed to provide quick, relevant responses. Together, these tools aim to optimise AI adoption, reduce operational risks, and improve productivity across enterprise data teams.

Lee Rosenfeld, ETL Integration Architect at McGraw-Hill Education, shared his experience with the AI features, stating: “With CLAIRE Copilot, we’ve been able to leverage natural language to break down complex mappings into a series of descriptive steps. We are excited to see how this can empower business analysts and developers in the team to find what they need without having to click through all the components, potentially saving them several hours or even days of analysis. Informatica’s AI-powered capabilities are transforming how we manage and utilise our data assets, empowering our teams to work more efficiently while maintaining governance standards.”

Smarter integration and automation across platforms

One of the key updates is the preview release of CLAIRE Copilot for data integration. This allows users to create data pipelines using natural language, while receiving context-aware recommendations and automatic documentation. These capabilities are designed to improve efficiency and make the integration process more transparent for data ingestion, replication, and merging tasks.

Similarly, CLAIRE Copilot for Integration Platform as a Service (iPaaS) is now available in preview. This feature allows even non-technical users to build complex, multi-step integration workflows between applications using natural language prompts. It supports the automation of object mappings and generates both business and technical summaries, reducing the need for manual configuration.

To improve processing of unstructured data, Informatica has introduced AI-powered parsing and transformation features. These include intelligent chunking, embedding capabilities, and PDF parsing to unlock insights from previously untapped sources such as documents and reports.

Informatica is also rolling out a collection of GenAI Recipes—prebuilt integration templates that make it easier to build and deploy AI-powered applications. These templates support platforms like Amazon Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Databricks Mosaic AI, Google Cloud Vertex AI and Gemini, Salesforce Pega GenAI, ServiceNow Generative AI, and Oracle Select AI. The goal is to help businesses reduce time-to-market and simplify AI solution deployment across various ecosystems.

Master data management enhanced by generative AI

Another significant development is the integration of CLAIRE GPT into Informatica’s Master Data Management (MDM) SaaS solution. This new feature enables users to explore business entities and related attributes using natural language search. It also helps generate consistent glossary descriptions and aliases automatically, improving team-wide understanding of data assets with less manual effort.

In addition, Informatica’s Data Marketplace now includes GenAI-powered natural language capabilities, allowing users to search for and access datasets through conversational queries. This improvement is expected to enhance data accessibility and streamline discovery, particularly for business users who may not be familiar with technical search terms.

Pratik Parekh, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Informatica, said: “By integrating CLAIRE AI capabilities across our Intelligent Data Management Cloud, we’re empowering organisations to manage their data with unprecedented efficiency. These new features boost developer productivity, enable new use cases and democratise data access which helps enterprises accelerate their AI initiatives and governance. Our commitment remains focused on helping businesses unlock the full potential of their data assets in today’s AI-driven landscape.”

Through these AI-powered updates, Informatica continues to position itself as a key enabler of enterprise AI, offering tools that simplify integration, streamline data governance, and improve access to usable, trusted data.
