NetApp storage validated for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, cloud partners, and certified systems

NetApp’s enterprise storage is now validated for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, Cloud Partners, and Certified Storage, strengthening AI capabilities for businesses.

NetApp, a leader in intelligent data infrastructure, has announced that NVIDIA has validated its high-performance enterprise storage systems, powered by NetApp ONTAP, for AI training and inferencing. This certification covers NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD, NVIDIA Cloud Partners, and the newly introduced NVIDIA-Certified Storage program. With these validations, NetApp is now equipped to support AI-driven workloads with enterprise-grade data management services, helping businesses build AI factories with secure and efficient data storage.

The certification aligns NetApp with NVIDIA’s AI Data Platform reference design, further enhancing its storage infrastructure with AI-driven inference models. This advancement leverages NVIDIA’s accelerated computing, networking, and software capabilities, reinforcing NetApp’s position as a key player in AI storage solutions.

“NetApp and NVIDIA are longstanding technology partners, jointly serving hundreds of customers for AI model training and inferencing,” said Jonsi Stefansson, Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at NetApp. “NetApp is committed to helping our customers navigate the era of intelligence by taking control of their data without silos. Harnessing AI to drive innovation and operational excellence is more than a technology problem. It’s a data strategy problem. By collaborating with NVIDIA, NetApp is positioned to be the leader in providing intelligent data infrastructure for AI factories, helping customers execute a data strategy that can carry them into the future.”

Addressing the growing need for AI-driven data management

As businesses increasingly rely on AI to generate insights and automate operations, many are rethinking their data management strategies. An intelligent data infrastructure allows companies to manage data securely and efficiently across different environments while eliminating silos.

NetApp’s collaboration with NVIDIA ensures its storage and management solutions are certified to support AI innovation at scale. By integrating NetApp’s data infrastructure with NVIDIA’s AI Data Platform and DGX SuperPOD, businesses can seamlessly deploy high-performance AI applications.

“Together, NetApp and NVIDIA are making it possible to leverage the full potential of AI,” said Charlie Boyle, Vice President, DGX Platforms at NVIDIA. “By integrating NetApp’s advanced data management capabilities with the NVIDIA AI Data Platform, DGX SuperPOD, and NVIDIA reference architectures, enterprises and cloud providers can deploy a seamless, high-performance environment for AI model training and inferencing applications.”

New AI-focused updates and certifications

At NVIDIA GTC 2025, NetApp is unveiling key updates and certifications aimed at advancing AI capabilities:

  • NetApp AFF A90 validated for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD – The NetApp AFF A90 enterprise storage system with ONTAP has been validated for NVIDIA DGX SuperPOD. This allows businesses to leverage secure, scalable storage solutions tailored for high-performance AI workloads, ensuring smooth AI factory operations without data silos.
  • NetApp AFF A90 certified for NVIDIA Cloud Partners with HGX systems – With certification for NVIDIA Cloud Partner Reference Architectures, NetApp AFF A90 can now support NVIDIA HGX B200 and HGX H200 systems. This certification enables NVIDIA Cloud Partners to use NetApp’s high-performance storage for AI-as-a-service providers, ensuring powerful AI-driven services in multi-tenant environments.
  • NetApp AIPod certified for enterprise storage in NVIDIA-Certified Storage program – NetApp AIPod has received NVIDIA-Certified Storage designation, allowing it to support NVIDIA Enterprise Reference Architectures with high-performance storage. This certification ensures reliable AI infrastructure performance across platforms, from NVIDIA L40S to HGX H200 supercomputers. NetApp is also launching an updated AIPod version with Lenovo, featuring the NVIDIA AI Enterprise software platform. This new solution offers enhanced flexibility for deploying AI inferencing and fine-tuning, eliminating the need for dedicated data science teams.

With these certifications, NetApp is well-positioned to provide enterprises with the high-performance storage solutions needed to scale AI workloads. The combination of NetApp ONTAP’s data unification capabilities and NVIDIA’s AI acceleration technologies ensures that businesses have the necessary tools to drive AI innovation at scale.
