Singapore rolls out new cybersecurity training initiative

Singapore's Cyber Security Agency launches the SG Cyber Leadership and Alumni Programme, extending its S$30m commitment to cyber capacity building until 2026. The initiative offers training at various levels and is open to international participants.

Singapore is extending its S$30m commitment towards cyber capacity building until 2026. This move comes alongside the launch of a new training initiative by the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).

Comprehensive training for professionals at all levels

The new training initiative, the SG Cyber Leadership and Alumni Programme aims to equip company officials with the skills they need to excel in cybersecurity. The programme offers training sessions at three different levels: Executive, Foundation, and Advanced. Moreover, it’s open to participants from any country and features an alumni fellowship programme as an added perk.

Course details and real-world applications

The Foundation course provides participants with an understanding of basic cybersecurity concepts, international law, and norms in cyberspace. It also offers insights into the operational and technical aspects of international cyber policy, the landscape of cyber threats, and effective mitigation strategies.

For those involved in multilateral cyber discussions, the Executive course delivers foundational operational and technical cyber policy knowledge. This training is essential for their professional roles.

The Advanced course, designed for senior officials who have completed the Foundation level, delves into a more nuanced exploration of key issues in cybersecurity.

These include policy, legal, technical, and operational aspects. The course also incorporates hands-on, self-driven training. Participants can apply theoretical knowledge through real-world case studies and key projects, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
