Sony expands BRAVIA Theatre lineup with new soundbars and large-screen TV
Sony launches BRAVIA Theatre soundbars, speakers, and a 100-inch BRAVIA 3 II TV in Singapore from May 2026.
Sony has introduced a new BRAVIA Theatre home audio lineup alongside the BRAVIA 3 II television, extending its home entertainment range with a focus on immersive audio and large-screen viewing.
Table Of Content
The announcement includes two soundbars, optional subwoofers and rear speakers, and a mid-tier TV available in sizes up to 100 inches. The products are positioned to support both new home cinema setups and upgrades to existing systems.
Soundbars built for wider surround audio
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 7 is positioned as the higher-end option in the new soundbar range. It uses a nine-speaker configuration, including up-firing and side speakers, to create a wider sound field from a single unit. Sony’s 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology and room calibration are included to adjust output based on the listening environment.
Users can expand the system with optional subwoofers and rear speakers. When paired with compatible components, the setup supports IMAX Enhanced playback.
The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 5 is a 3.1-channel system bundled with a wireless subwoofer. It combines S-Force PRO Front Surround, Vertical Surround Engine, and Sony’s upmixer to simulate a more immersive audio experience. The model is positioned as a more accessible option, balancing performance and cost.
Both soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and can be controlled through compatible BRAVIA TVs or the BRAVIA Connect mobile app. Features such as Voice Zoom 3 aim to improve dialogue clarity, while the overall design focuses on simplified setup and operation.
Optional speakers extend system flexibility
Sony is also introducing additional components to extend the BRAVIA Theatre ecosystem. These include the BRAVIA Theatre Sub 9, BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8, and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9.
The subwoofers use large driver units to deliver deeper bass, with the Sub 9 featuring dual opposing 200mm drivers designed to reduce distortion and extend low-frequency output. The Sub 8 uses a single 200mm driver.
Both models support dual subwoofer operation, allowing users to scale bass performance across larger rooms. The Rear 9 speakers include up-firing drivers to improve rear-channel output and support spatial audio effects.
These components are designed to integrate with compatible BRAVIA Theatre systems, allowing users to expand audio performance based on room size and configuration.
BRAVIA 3 II adds large-format TV option
Alongside the audio lineup, Sony is expanding its TV range with the BRAVIA 3 II, a mid-tier model available in sizes from 43 inches to 100 inches. The TV uses Sony’s XR Processor and XR Triluminos Pro to deliver colour accuracy, contrast, and detail. It also incorporates MediaTek hardware to support image processing and reduce noise during playback.
Support for Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X is included, alongside 4K 120Hz capability and four HDMI 2.1 ports. This positions the TV for both home cinema use and gaming scenarios.
Sony has also introduced an Inclusive Remote Control for the BRAVIA 3 II. The design includes distinct button shapes and spacing to improve tactile navigation, alongside a Remote Finder function to help locate the device.
