Your current Galaxy Watch might tell you how well you slept or give you an Energy Score in the morning. But now, Samsung is adding something called Bedtime Guidance, which is designed to go further. Instead of just giving you sleep stats, this feature learns your patterns and recommends personalised bedtime.
Dr Pak explained that it’s especially helpful for shift workers or anyone with an unpredictable schedule. The system looks at your circadian rhythm and sleep debt (how much rest you’ve missed over several days) to guide your nightly routine. After three nights, it starts adjusting your ideal bedtime based on your real needs—so no more guesswork or sticking to a static bedtime that doesn’t suit you.
Train smarter with your running coach
Whether you aim to complete your first 5K or train for a marathon, the new Running Coach will tailor a plan just for you. It starts by asking for your goal, then uses a 12-minute walk or run to understand your current fitness level. From there, you will be scored between 0 (beginner) and 10 (advanced) and given a personalised training programme.
What sets this apart is the ongoing support. Your watch doesn’t just give you a set schedule—it adjusts your plan as you go. If you’re overdoing it, you’ll be told to slow down. If you’re training, it’ll push you further. Samsung worked with sports medicine experts to ensure the training advice is safe and effective, helping you reach your goal without injury.
Measure antioxidants and monitor your heart health
The Galaxy Watch will also measure your Antioxidant Index in a world-first for smartwatches. Using its existing BioActive Sensor and new LED technology, it checks levels of carotenoids in your skin—these are powerful antioxidants like beta-carotene. You’ll get a score between 1 and 100, showing how well your diet supports your body’s defence systems.
Dr Pak shared that this is done by placing your finger on the back of the watch. In seconds, a number appears on your connected Samsung phone. A quick test showed the reporter scoring 52—a fairly average level. It’s not just about numbers; this can help you make more informed diet choices daily.
Another important update is Vascular Load, a feature that measures cardiovascular stress over time. While it doesn’t offer direct advice, it gives you a baseline after three nights and tracks whether your heart is under more or less pressure. These insights could help you spot long-term trends and adjust your lifestyle.
It’s been a year since Samsung introduced its Energy Score and the screen-free Galaxy Ring. Since then, Dr Pak says more users are checking their scores each week. People enjoy knowing how they sleep and what they can do next to improve their health. As for the Galaxy Ring, users love its ease of wearing and its long battery life. It’s especially popular for sleep tracking and women’s health.
Samsung also sees room for more in-between devices—perhaps something between a large smartwatch and a simple ring. But one thing is clear: future Galaxy Watches will become even more comfortable and capable. “You’ll be surprised,” said Dr Pak, hinting at what’s still to come.
