TechInnovation 2024 empowers SMEs in sustainability and global innovation

TechInnovation 2024 connects Singaporean SMEs with global partners, focusing on sustainable innovation, technology, and growth opportunities.

TechInnovation 2024, organised by IPI, a subsidiary of Enterprise Singapore, is set to enhance how small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore engage with global markets. This event acts as a crucial platform for businesses seeking growth opportunities, connecting them with industry leaders and potential partners worldwide. By facilitating collaboration between innovators, technology providers, and business leaders, TechInnovation helps uncover and commercialise new technologies, supporting the growth of Singapore’s companies.

Global collaboration driving innovation

IPI’s main objective is to aid Singaporean businesses by fostering international partnerships. This year, TechInnovation 2024 is bringing together global exhibitors, giving them a platform to present their cutting-edge technologies and encouraging partnerships with local businesses. Key partners include KILSA Global, which focuses on helping Korean companies scale internationally, and the Japanese Corporates Technology Innovation (JCTI) Launchpad. The JCTI Launchpad promotes cross-border collaborations with leading Japanese companies like Panasonic, Ricoh, Mitsui Chemicals, Toyo Seikan, and Nisshinbo. Additionally, Thailand’s Program Management Unit for Competitiveness Enhancement (PMUC) will host a pavilion featuring 22 startups advancing in AI, green technology, and digitalisation, reinforcing IPI’s shared commitment to fostering impactful sustainable innovation across the region.

“TechInnovation is a vital platform for both local and international companies to discover and promote innovative technology solutions. This year, we are welcoming over 30 international exhibitors, including Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs), SMEs, and Multinational Corporations, to showcase their cutting-edge technologies,” said Wong Lup Wai, CEO of IPI. “The increased global participation reflects TechInnovation’s growing reputation as a hub for technological advancement.”

Focus on sustainable urban living

The theme for TechInnovation 2024 is “Sustainable Urban Living”, covering essential areas such as urban solutions, agriculture, food, and health and wellness. The event will showcase the latest innovations in artificial intelligence (AI), digitalisation, and sustainability to address global challenges and demonstrate their positive societal and environmental impacts. Exhibitors like EtaVolt and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore will present eco-friendly technologies, highlighting IPI’s commitment to driving sustainable innovation with global significance.

Alvin How, CTO of IPI Singapore, emphasised the importance of the event, saying, “TechInnovation plays a vital role in empowering businesses, especially SMEs, by creating essential connections and fostering partnerships. The event not only showcases innovative solutions but also opens up new market opportunities, demonstrating its significant value for growth. Our exhibitors have expressed their enthusiasm for participating last year and are excited to return this year, reflecting the positive impact TechInnovation has on their business journey.”

Personalised growth support

In addition to the exhibitions, TechInnovation 2024 will offer practical support through IPI’s Innovation Advisors. Participants can join networking sessions and masterclasses focused on business growth. IPI will also offer personalised advice through one-on-one clinics, where businesses can consult industry experts for tailored guidance on refining their strategies and scaling internationally.

The one-on-one clinics, held at IPI’s booth, provide selected participants with high-level advice from the Innovation Advisors, who bring deep expertise across different industries. This initiative empowers businesses to grow and expand into global markets.

TechInnovation 2024 continues IPI’s mission of advancing Future-Forward Cities, Future-Ready Food Industries, and Healthcare Horizons. With a strong emphasis on sustainable urban living solutions, IPI remains committed to helping businesses innovate, grow, and seize future opportunities in sustainability and technology.
