ASUS has introduced three new WiFi 7 devices at Gamescom 2024, designed to elevate cloud gaming and wireless networking. The ROG Rapture GT-BE19000, ASUS RT-BE86U, and ROG USB-BE92 offer advanced features that deliver high-speed, low-latency connections. These devices cater to gamers and users who demand top-tier performance for online activities, positioning ASUS as a leader in the WiFi 7 revolution.

Key devices showcased

At the heart of the showcase was the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000. This gaming router boasts impressive tri-band WiFi 7 speeds of up to 19 Gbps, making it 2.4 times faster than previous models. It also covers up to 73% more area, ensuring consistent, reliable gaming experiences throughout the home. Equipped with dual 10G and four 2.5G Ethernet ports, this router provides versatile wired options alongside wireless capabilities.

The ROG RT-BE86U, another standout, offers dual-band WiFi 7 with speeds up to 6800 Mbps. Its 10G WAN port and four 2.5G LAN ports provide a combined wired speed of up to 20 Gbps, while also supporting 4G LTE and 5G tethering through its USB port. This router is designed for those seeking an expandable AiMesh network that can handle demanding applications with ease.

Meanwhile, the ROG USB-BE92 adapter provides ultrafast WiFi 7 connectivity through a simple plug-and-play interface. It supports both USB Type-A and USB 3.2 Gen 1×1 Type-C, delivering speeds of up to 6500 Mbps. The 6 GHz band, known for reducing interference, enhances performance and ensures smoother connections for gaming, streaming, and other online activities.

High-performance gaming and beyond

The ROG Rapture GT-BE19000 router brings next-level performance to gaming networks, featuring 320 MHz channels in the 6 GHz band, Multi-Link Operation, and 4096-QAM for maximum throughput. With speeds of up to 19 Gbps and versatile WAN options, including AI WAN detection and dual 10G or 2.5G Ethernet ports, users can expect superior gaming experiences.

Gamers will appreciate the router’s Triple-Level Game Acceleration, which prioritises game traffic from the device to the server, improving overall gameplay performance. The router also includes Guest Network Pro, allowing users to create a dedicated gaming network SSID and VLAN. Robust security is ensured by AiProtection Pro, providing peace of mind for those concerned about online safety.

ASUS RT-BE86U also caters to gamers and tech enthusiasts with its powerful quad-core 2.6 GHz CPU, which provides a 30% increase in performance. This router includes support for multiple WAN options, like 4G LTE and 5G mobile tethering, making it an ideal choice for home networks that demand both wired and wireless connections.

Expanding WiFi 7 availability

ASUS is further bridging the gap between existing networks and the latest WiFi 7 capabilities with the ROG USB-BE92 adapter. This device allows users to upgrade their PCs and laptops, offering speeds up to 6500 Mbps. It supports the less congested 6 GHz band for better overall connectivity, while also including WPA3 for enhanced security. The plug-and-play design makes it easy for users to integrate into their existing setups without hassle.

WiFi 7, which will become widely available on Windows 11 later this year, promises faster speeds and greater coverage than previous generations. ASUS’s collaboration with Intel at Gamescom 2024 showcases the capabilities of these new devices, giving users a glimpse into the future of online gaming and high-performance networking.

With the launch of the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000, ASUS RT-BE86U, and ROG USB-BE92, ASUS continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible with WiFi technology. These devices are designed for a new era of cloud gaming and online performance, ensuring that users have access to faster speeds, better coverage, and improved security.
