Canon Singapore partners with Darren Heath to inspire creativity and community

Canon Singapore partners with racing photographer Darren Heath for a seminar and community events to inspire creativity in Singapore.

Canon Singapore has announced a collaboration with Darren Heath, a world-renowned motorsport photographer, to promote creativity, education, and community engagement through a series of events in October 2025. The initiative highlights Canon’s continued commitment to nurturing talent and inspiring the next generation of visual storytellers.

Heath, an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society, is recognised for his distinctive approach to racing photography, often capturing high-speed action with natural light and colour. Over his 35-year career, he has covered more than 550 Grand Prix races, producing images that balance technical precision with artistic expression.

Andrew Koh, Senior Vice President and Head of Singapore Operations at Canon Singapore, said, “We are thrilled to collaborate with Darren Heath on activities that embody Canon’s commitment to nurturing creative talent and inspiring new possibilities in photography. At Canon, we encourage everyone to explore new ideas and experiment with different techniques to tell compelling stories. By doing so, we cultivate a vibrant community where creativity thrives, and diverse voices come together to push the boundaries of photographic expression across all genres.”

The art of the race

As part of the partnership, Canon Singapore will host The Art of the Race by Darren Heath, a seminar where Heath will share insights from his extensive career. The event will cover his signature panning techniques, stories behind iconic images, and his creative vision in capturing some of the most striking moments in motorsport.

Speaking about the collaboration, Heath said, “Photography is about capturing a moment and telling a story through creativity, perspective, and emotion. Partnering with Canon gives me the opportunity to share not just my work, but also my passion for the art with enthusiasts in Singapore.”

The seminar will be held on 30 September 2025 at the Wyndham Singapore Hotel from 6:30 PM. Attendees will gain a behind-the-scenes perspective on the challenges and rewards of photographing high-speed racing and how storytelling plays a key role in building impactful imagery.

Inspiring communities through photography

This collaboration is part of Canon Singapore’s broader efforts to support photographers at all levels. The company has long championed initiatives that foster education, creativity, and community spirit. By working with Heath, Canon aims to provide aspiring and established photographers with opportunities to learn from one of the most celebrated figures in the field.

Registration for The Art of the Race is now open, with tickets priced at S$6, inclusive of GST. Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
