EA reveals Star Wars Zero Company, a new strategy game coming in 2026

EA reveals Star Wars: Zero Company, a turn-based Clone Wars game with custom characters and tactics that will launch in 2026 for PC, PS5, and Xbox.

Electronic Arts (EA) has finally confirmed the release of Star Wars Zero Company, a turn-based strategy game that has been in development for over three years. Bit Reactor is developing the game and working closely with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. This was one of the three Star Wars titles announced in January 2022. Since then, fans have waited eagerly to hear more.

A fresh take on the Clone Wars

Set during the Clone Wars, Zero Company won’t focus on major battles you’ve seen before. Instead, the game focuses on lesser-known missions—covert and tactical operations in the shadows. You’ll step into the boots of Hawks, a former Republic officer who now leads a small squad of operatives from different corners of the galaxy.

The characters in your team are fully customisable, both in terms of appearance and roles. Your squad can include clone troopers, astromechs, umbarans, Jedi, and other original characters created for the game. Hawks himself can also be customised, including his combat style and appearance.

There’s more than just battles to look forward to. You’ll build and manage a secret base between missions, gathering intelligence and planning your next move. This adds a deeper layer of strategy, encouraging you to think ahead and adapt your tactics based on the information you collect. Bit Reactor says player choices will play a significant role in shaping how the story unfolds.

A studio with a strong strategy background

Zero Company can bring strong strategy gameplay to the Star Wars universe. However, developers led a new name, Bit Reactor, with serious experience in this field. The team includes former employees from Firaxis Games, known for hits like XCOM and Civilization. Greg Foertsch, Bit Reactor’s co-founder and CEO, previously worked as the art director on XCOM: Enemy Unknown and XCOM 2. His team aims to craft a game that appeals to fans of deep strategy and those who enjoy a strong story.

With this mix of tactical gameplay, custom characters, and a brand-new storyline in the Clone Wars era, Star Wars Zero Company looks set to offer a refreshing take on the galaxy far, far away. The game is scheduled for release in 2026 and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

This could be worth watching if you’re a Star Wars fan and enjoy strategy games.
