Google expands AI Pro plan with increased storage and new features
Google boosts AI Pro plan with 5TB storage, enhanced Gemini features and added Home Premium subscription at no extra cost.
Google has announced a significant update to its AI Pro subscription, introducing expanded cloud storage and a range of new capabilities to enhance productivity and everyday use. The plan, priced at US$20 per month or US$200 annually, now includes a substantial increase in storage alongside additional integrated services.
Subscribers to the plan will see their cloud storage allocation rise from 2TB to 5TB at no additional cost. The extra capacity is designed to support not only artificial intelligence tools but also broader usage across Gmail, Google Drive and Google Photos. This move reflects Google’s continued effort to position its AI services within a wider ecosystem rather than as standalone tools.
The company confirmed that the updated storage offering is available to both new and existing subscribers. However, some users may experience a delay before the changes appear in their accounts. Addressing speculation online, Google clarified that the update is genuine and not related to April Fools’ Day.
Expanded AI capabilities across Google services
Alongside the storage increase, Google is introducing enhancements to its Gemini AI system, enabling deeper integration across its productivity suite. Gemini can now pull contextual information from Gmail and the web to assist users working in Drive, Docs, Slides and Sheets. This allows for more relevant suggestions and improved workflow efficiency.
The AI tool is also gaining new features within Gmail itself. Users can request summaries of their inbox, helping them quickly understand key messages without having to read each email individually. Additionally, Gemini can proofread outgoing emails, offering suggestions to improve clarity and tone before messages are sent.
These updates reflect a broader trend towards embedding AI into everyday digital tasks. By integrating Gemini more closely with existing services, Google aims to reduce friction in common workflows and make advanced AI features more accessible to general users rather than limiting them to specialist applications.
New automation tools and bundled services
Google is also expanding the plan’s capabilities through new automation features designed to handle repetitive online tasks. According to Shimrit Ben-Yair, a vice president at the company, Gemini now offers enhanced agentic assistance in Chrome via an auto-browsing function.

– Proofread: Advanced grammar and style checks to help you hit "send" with confidence. ✉️✅
Ben-Yair described the feature as one “that handles those tedious, multi-step chores — like planning a trip or filling out forms,” highlighting its potential to save time on routine activities. The functionality signals Google’s growing focus on AI agents that can perform actions on behalf of users rather than simply providing information.
In addition to these updates, the company has bundled its Home Premium subscription into the AI Pro plan at no extra cost. This service, which typically costs US$10 per month, adds further value to the package by combining smart home features with AI tools and expanded storage.
The inclusion of Home Premium suggests a strategy to consolidate multiple services into a single subscription, making it more appealing for users seeking an all-in-one solution. By combining storage, AI capabilities and home integration, Google is positioning AI Pro as a comprehensive digital offering.
