Hyundai’s IONIQ 6 from Singapore will roll out with better range and charging support

Hyundai's IONIQ 6, made in Singapore, offers better range and expanded charging support, starting at S$192,150, set to hit the roads soon.

Hyundai is excited to launch its second electric vehicle (EV) made in Singapore, the IONIQ 6, from its Hyundai Motor Group Innovation Centre in Singapore (HMGICS) in Jurong. This follows the earlier success of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 5 robotaxi.

Cutting-edge production technology

The IONIQ 6 benefits from Hyundai’s state-of-the-art automated cell-based production platform at HMGICS. Available in both COE Cat A and Cat B variants, it offers four trim levels: Inspiration (77 kWh, Cat B), Prestige (77 kWh, Cat B), Prestige (53 kWh, Cat A), and Exclusive (53 kWh, Cat A).

Enhanced range for IONIQ 6

The IONIQ 6 aims to address this issue with an improved range. Hyundai states that the 77kWh battery in the long-range Prestige model provides a WLTP range of up to 614km, a notable improvement over the IONIQ 5’s similar model, which had a range of 507km with the same battery capacity.

Partnerships for better EV support

Hyundai is partnering with companies like Schneider Electric and mobile charging provider P.UP to support the growing number of EVs on Singapore roads. The Hyundai Flexible Charging Credit programme has expanded to include 17 Charge Point Operators (CPOs) to enhance service coverage island-wide.

For those living in private estates, Hyundai and Schneider Electric offer a three-year product warranty on the latest home charger, including an extended cable length. Additionally, PUP will provide five monthly charges for up to a year to Hyundai IONIQ 5 and 6 owners. This service also includes complimentary 12-month emergency rescue services such as emergency charging, 12V battery replacement, and towing up to two times per year. The IONIQ 6 starts at S$192,150, inclusive of COE.
