iPhone 17 Pro colours revealed in leaked video, with a striking new option included

A new video leak shows iPhone 17 Pro dummy units in five colours, including a bold orange shade and a dark blue that replaces Sky Blue.

A recent leak appears to have revealed the upcoming colour choices for Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro models, and an unexpected new shade has caught the attention of tech enthusiasts. The video, shared by the tipster @MajinBuOfficial, showcases five dummy units of the anticipated iPhone, offering a glimpse into what could be the final colour palette ahead of the official announcement.

New colours replace familiar favourites

The short 11-second clip highlights five distinct colours believed to be available for the iPhone 17 Pro: white, grey, black, dark blue, and orange. While Apple has yet to confirm any official details, the leak has stirred interest, particularly because of what’s missing. The previously rumoured “Sky Blue” shade is nowhere to be seen. According to recent reports, this lighter blue tone may instead be reserved for the iPhone 17 Air, a potential new addition to the broader iPhone 17 range.

The presence of the dark blue model seems to follow in the footsteps of the Blue Titanium finish offered on the iPhone 15 Pro, suggesting Apple may continue to favour richer, deeper hues over brighter alternatives for its premium models. While not yet confirmed, the blue variant shown in the video appears to share similar visual characteristics with its predecessor.

Orange enters the lineup

Perhaps the most notable addition is the orange version of the iPhone 17 Pro, a colour not typically associated with Apple’s more conservative Pro range. Though the company previously offered gold finishes for its high-end iPhones, it has now been over two years since a Pro model was released in that tone. The orange shown in the video may be Apple’s attempt at introducing a bolder, warmer alternative, echoing the popularity of gold while giving it a modern twist.

Observers have noted that the orange shade appears rich and subtle, rather than bright or fluorescent, which could appeal to consumers seeking a premium-looking device with a touch of personality. With smartphone manufacturers increasingly using colour to differentiate their models, Apple’s decision to introduce orange might be a strategic move to stay ahead of the curve.

Expected announcement and launch timeline

Apple is widely expected to unveil the iPhone 17 lineup during the week of 8 September, consistent with its usual early September launch window. While the company has not released any official teasers or statements regarding the new models or their colours, more leaks and previews will likely emerge in the weeks leading up to the announcement.

The iPhone 17 Pro will likely form the centrepiece of the reveal event, alongside other models in the iPhone 17 series. With colour playing an increasingly prominent role in consumer purchasing decisions, the inclusion of shades like orange and dark blue could give the Pro lineup a competitive edge.
