Keeper Security triples revenue in Japan as zero-trust demand surges across APAC

Keeper Security triples revenue in Japan and expands across APAC as organisations adopt zero-trust security to counter rising cyber threats.

Keeper Security is rapidly expanding its presence across the Asia-Pacific region, tripling its annual recurring revenue (ARR) in Japan over the past year as organisations step up investments in zero-trust security solutions. The company’s strong growth reflects a rising urgency among enterprises and public sector organisations to secure credentials and sensitive data amid a surge in cyber attacks.

Growing adoption of zero-trust security solutions

Keeper Security APAC, based in Tokyo’s Minato ward, offers identity and access security solutions that include KeeperPAM, a cloud-native Privileged Access Management (PAM) platform. The solution is designed to protect passwords, passkeys, privileged accounts, secrets and remote connections. As cyber threats become more sophisticated and credential theft grows more common, organisations across APAC are accelerating their adoption of zero-trust security strategies.

“As cyber attacks intensify across APAC, organisations are increasingly recognising that not adopting zero-trust is itself a risk,” said Takanori Nishiyama, Senior Vice President of APAC Sales and Japan Country Manager at Keeper Security. “Our rapid growth in Japan and the APAC region demonstrates how seriously our customers take privileged access management. Going forward, we will continue to deliver secure, transparent and flexible solutions.”

Credential-based attacks remain one of the most persistent cybersecurity challenges, according to Japan’s National Center of Incident Readiness and Strategy for Cybersecurity (NISC). Common attack methods include phishing, password reuse across multiple services and the misuse of stolen login credentials. Keeper’s zero-trust and zero-knowledge approach addresses these vulnerabilities by offering comprehensive protection for sensitive information and critical systems.

Strategic focus on APAC expansion

Keeper established its APAC headquarters in 2023 at Prime Terrace Kamiyacho in Toranomon, Tokyo. The office serves as a regional hub for Japan, East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, housing key functions such as sales, marketing, customer success and support. This structure enables the company to strengthen data protection and compliance capabilities in each market while supporting the development of cybersecurity infrastructure across the region.

In Japan, Keeper’s growth has been particularly strong. The company’s ARR has tripled in the past year, accompanied by a significant increase in customer numbers. Its Tokyo workforce has also grown by 60% over the same period, boosting support for enterprises, channel partners and public sector clients.

The company’s expansion is supported by the growing adoption of its core solutions, including KeeperPAM and Keeper Password Manager, and the development of its partner ecosystem. Keeper has broadened its collaboration with key partners such as TechVan, ITOCHU Techno-Solutions Corporation (CTC) and Ascentech, alongside existing relationships. These partnerships extend Keeper’s reach across a wide range of sectors, including finance, manufacturing, telecommunications and government, and from small and mid-sized businesses to large enterprises.

Innovation and accessibility with KeeperPAM

At the heart of Keeper’s product portfolio is KeeperPAM, a next-generation cloud-based identity and access management platform. It integrates essential security functions such as password management, secrets management, secure remote connections, integration with single sign-on (SSO) and multi-factor authentication, real-time monitoring, and SIEM integration for regulatory compliance. Its zero-knowledge architecture ensures Keeper itself cannot decrypt user data, while its cloud-native design allows for rapid and flexible deployment.

These capabilities enable organisations to enforce least-privileged access, securely share credentials and reduce risk across their infrastructure. Traditionally seen as complex and costly, PAM solutions have often been out of reach for smaller organisations. KeeperPAM is designed to address these challenges by offering a simple, scalable and cost-effective solution suitable for businesses of all sizes.

Broader regional growth and future plans

Beyond Japan, Keeper is investing in high-growth markets across the region, including South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia. The company is strengthening its multilingual support, enhancing compliance with local regulations and building deeper partnerships with local firms. It also operates data centres in Japan and Australia, ensuring data sovereignty and delivering low-latency services for regional clients.

Keeper’s expansion strategy reflects a broader shift in how organisations across APAC are approaching cybersecurity. As threats evolve and the cost of breaches rises, zero-trust and privileged access management are becoming central to enterprise security strategies. Keeper’s growth in Japan and the wider region signals strong demand for solutions that combine robust protection with ease of use and scalability.
