New Beats Powerbeats Fit leak emerges ahead of Apple event

Renders of Apple’s new Beats Powerbeats Fit earbuds leak ahead of the iPhone 17 event, showing colour options, features and battery life.

Apple is preparing for its highly anticipated iPhone 17 event later today, but the leak of new Beats earbuds has already stirred excitement. Hours before the launch, renders and specifications of the upcoming Powerbeats Fit surfaced online, giving fans an early look at what the company is planning.

Design and colour options

Apple first teased the Powerbeats Fit in August through a short promotional trailer. Now, trusted technology leaker Evan Blass has shared images and details that reveal more about the design and features. The wireless earbuds will reportedly be available in four colours: orange, grey, black and pink.

In terms of performance, the earbuds are said to offer up to 30 hours of battery life when used with the charging case. Without the case, each earbud can deliver around seven hours of playback on a single charge.

The leaked renders suggest that the new earbuds closely resemble the Beats Fit Pro, which launched in 2021 for US$200. Both models share a similar design and are built with Apple’s H1 chip at their core.

Features and improvements

Like the Beats Fit Pro, the Powerbeats Fit is expected to include active noise cancellation and a transparency mode, giving users the ability to adjust how much outside sound they hear. The earbuds will also carry an IPX4 rating, making them resistant to sweat and water splashes – a useful feature for workouts and outdoor activities.

One notable difference, however, is that the Powerbeats Fit appears to provide four sizes of ear tips, offering more personalisation compared with the three options included with the earlier model. This could make the new earbuds more comfortable for a wider range of users.

While the leaks have revealed much about the design and battery life, there are still some unanswered questions. Details such as the price, wireless charging support, and the size of the charging case have not been confirmed.

Launch timing remains unclear

The timing of the leak is particularly interesting, as Apple is expected to highlight new fitness-focused upgrades for the AirPods Pro during today’s iPhone 17 launch, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Introducing a separate pair of Beats earbuds at the same event may be unusual for the company.

Still, the August trailer confirmed that the Powerbeats Fit is scheduled for release in autumn 2025. That means while an official announcement may not happen today, consumers can expect more details in the coming months as Apple prepares to expand its audio line-up.

The leak has added an extra layer of anticipation ahead of Apple’s keynote, where the company is expected to showcase its latest hardware updates and innovations. For now, Apple fans will be watching closely to see whether the Powerbeats Fit makes a surprise appearance on stage.
