Nvidia releases another GPU fix to stop crashes on RTX 50-series

Nvidia released hotfix 576.26, its fifth GPU driver update in recent months, to fix RTX 50-series crashes, game bugs, and DisplayPort issues.

Nvidia has rolled out a fresh hotfix driver to solve a range of crash and display problems affecting its RTX 50-series graphics cards. If you’ve been having trouble with your games crashing or your monitor flickering, this update—version 576.26—could bring the relief you’ve been waiting for.

This new update builds on the earlier 576.02 driver released at the start of the month, which already included several crash and bug fixes. Now, Nvidia has added even more patches, some of which are crucial for the stability of its newest GPU range.

New fixes aim to solve game crashes and screen bugs

If you’re using a card from the RTX 50 series, this driver brings all the improvements from the previous 576.15 hotfix, released just last week. That update tackled a specific temperature bug that had recently been introduced, causing some users to be concerned about overheating.

The latest patch also takes care of a few well-known game problems. If you play Forza Horizon 5 and have noticed flickering graphics, or if Forza Motorsport has been showing track corruption, this driver should fix those. You might also have experienced crashes in Black Myth: Wukong, a frustrating issue that has now been addressed.

But that’s not all. Nvidia has listed further improvements for titles like Red Dead Redemption 2, Horizon Forbidden West, Dead Island 2, and Resident Evil 4 Remake, all aimed at improving how these games run on the RTX 50-series cards.

DisplayPort problems get another patch

Alongside gaming fixes, Nvidia is again trying to resolve problems with LG monitors. Many users have reported black screens when using DisplayPort 2.1 mode. According to Nvidia, this hotfix includes another attempt to sort this out. There’s also a fix for a grey screen crash when using multiple monitors and a patch for momentary screen flickering at high refresh rates.

These changes could make a noticeable difference if your screen has been going black or grey without warning, especially during gaming or while switching between tasks.

Ongoing issues raise concerns about Nvidia driver quality

This is now the fifth hotfix driver Nvidia has released in just a few months—an unusual number for a company that once prided itself on stable and high-quality drivers. Many users who bought RTX 50-series cards have been vocal about their frustration, and the steady flow of emergency updates suggests that Nvidia is still trying to resolve the issues.

Just three years ago, in April 2022, Nvidia was known for mocking its rival AMD for pushing out beta drivers that weren’t fully tested. At the time, the company said it would never confuse customers with multiple conflicting driver versions. But today, Nvidia finds itself in a similar spot, with repeated hotfixes and continuing reports of bugs.

If you’re using an RTX 50-series GPU, it’s important to download and install the latest 576.26 hotfix driver. It might not fix everything, but it is another step towards a more stable and reliable gaming experience.
