Poco M7 launches in Singapore as an affordable entry-level smartphone

Poco M7 arrives in Singapore with a 7,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 685 chip and 144Hz display, starting from S$199.

Following the release of the Pro version in April 2025, Poco has now launched the standard Poco M7 in Singapore. Positioned within the brand’s entry-level M-series, the device is designed to offer essential features at an affordable price, with a starting cost of S$199 for the 128GB model.

Poco, a sub-brand of Xiaomi, organises its smartphones into three main categories: the flagship F-series, the mid-range X-series, and the budget-friendly M-series. The M7 upholds this tradition, prioritising value and practicality while retaining a substantial 7,000mAh battery and a range of modern software features.

Design, performance and display

The Poco M7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 685 processor, the same chip found in the 2023 Redmi Note 12. It runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, providing a familiar Android-based experience. Despite its entry-level positioning, the phone offers access to features such as Google Gemini, Circle to Search with Google, and expandable virtual RAM of up to 16GB, which is derived from its 8GB LPDDR4X RAM. It also supports MicroSD cards with storage of up to 2TB.

The phone’s design features superhero and mecha-inspired elements aimed at younger users, while durability is addressed with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance. The 6.9-inch FHD+ display offers nine refresh rate settings, ranging from 48Hz to 144Hz, a peak brightness of 700 nits, and triple TÜV Rheinland certifications for eye comfort. Audio performance is enhanced with Hi-Res Audio certification, Dolby Atmos support, and a 200% volume boost.

Battery and camera capabilities

A key selling point of the Poco M7 is its 7,000mAh battery, which uses 5% silicon-carbon technology. It supports 33W wired fast charging and 18W reverse charging. Battery optimisation features include Battery Health 4.0 for longevity, Zero Power Instant On for fast start-ups, and Boost Charging for quicker top-ups when the battery is low.

The rear camera system features a 50MP dual setup, comprising a main and ultrawide lens. Software enhancements such as Auto Night Mode, Selfie Beauty Mode, and Dynamic Shots — Poco’s equivalent of iPhone Live Photos — aim to improve the photography experience. The device is also equipped with NFC for contactless payments and other compatible functions.

Pricing and availability in Singapore

The Poco M7 is available in two configurations: 6GB RAM with 128GB storage at S$199, and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage at S$229. Colour options include Silver, Blue, and Black.

From 14 to 27 August 2025, early bird pricing reduces the cost by S$20, bringing the prices to S$179 and S$209, respectively.

The phone can be purchased through Xiaomi’s official online store, as well as Xiaomi’s official Shopee and Lazada platforms.
