Sony introduces mocopi mobile motion capture system in Singapore

Sony launches mocopi in Singapore, a compact motion capture system for creators and VTubers, available from November 2025.

Sony has unveiled its new mobile motion capture system, mocopi (QM-SS1), in Singapore. Designed for creators and virtual production enthusiasts, the compact device offers a portable, accessible way to perform full-body motion tracking using Sony’s proprietary technologies.

Compact design for creative freedom

The mocopi system uses small, lightweight sensors and dedicated apps available for iOS, Android, and Windows to capture precise body movements. Users can record motion data or videos of their avatars, or stream real-time motion data to compatible third-party software.

Unlike traditional full-body motion capture setups that require studios and skilled operators, mocopi allows creators to record and animate from virtually anywhere. Its compact sensors, paired with Sony’s unique algorithm, make it possible to capture high-quality motion using only a smartphone or a PC equipped with the Sensor Data Receiver(s) for mocopi. This flexibility enables VTubers, filmmakers, and animators to create and explore virtual reality experiences without being limited by time or location.

In-store demonstrations and creator experience zones

From 31 October 2025, Sony Stores across Singapore will feature dedicated mocopi demo units. Visitors can experience firsthand how easily avatars can be brought to life using the all-in-one motion capture system. The in-store demonstrations aim to show how mocopi simplifies dynamic content creation for professionals and enthusiasts alike.

At the Sony Store located in 313@somerset, a new mocopi Experience Zone has been created for those who wish to explore the system’s full potential. The space allows visitors to engage with advanced programs such as the mocopi PC app and XYN Motion Studio, offering a closer look at how the technology can be integrated into professional creative workflows. The experience highlights mocopi’s role in enabling virtual production, content creation, and live performance, while inspiring creators across different levels of expertise. Sony’s mocopi system will be available in Singapore from November 2025, priced at S$599.
