UiPath introduces enterprise-grade platform for agentic automation

UiPath launches new enterprise automation platform combining AI agents, robots, and people to deliver secure and scalable agentic workflows.

UiPath has unveiled a new enterprise-grade platform for agentic automation that combines AI agents, robots, and human decision-making into a single, unified system. The next-generation UiPath Platform is designed to address common barriers to enterprise AI adoption, such as security, compliance, and vendor lock-in, while improving reliability and scalability. It is now available via a free trial on the UiPath website, with general availability for selected features expected by the end of May.

Enabling trusted, scalable automation

UiPath’s new platform offers what the company describes as “agentic automation”—a model that blends robotic process automation (RPA), AI models, and human input into seamless workflows. The company says this approach delivers reliable, intelligent automation that is adaptable and secure.

Central to this new platform is UiPath Maestro, an orchestration layer that enables end-to-end automation of complex business processes. It incorporates built-in process intelligence and key performance indicator (KPI) tracking for ongoing optimisation. Maestro also gives organisations the oversight required to deploy AI agents safely across different teams and systems.

“Through a controlled agency model, UiPath ensures AI agents operate within clearly defined guardrails—ensuring security, predictability, and performance,” said Raghu Malpani, Chief Technology Officer at UiPath. “We are targeting 95%+ agent accuracy with every launch.”

The platform’s governance features include real-time vulnerability assessments and strict data access protocols, all aimed at ensuring AI agents meet enterprise standards for performance and trust.

Supporting developers and building an open ecosystem

UiPath’s new offering supports a wide range of developers—from business technologists to full-stack programmers. Agent Builder, available within UiPath Studio, lets users build and customise AI agents with both low-code and full-code tools. This flexibility is expected to help organisations rapidly develop sophisticated automations tailored to their needs.

“With Agent Builder, our developer community of more than three million professionals worldwide can build agents directly into existing workflows,” said Graham Sheldon, Chief Product Officer at UiPath.

To support multi-agent systems and cross-platform integration, UiPath has also developed an open framework that integrates with tools like LangChain, Anthropic, and Microsoft. One key partnership involves Google Cloud’s Agent2Agent (A2A) protocol, which enables secure communication and coordination between AI agents. This open approach helps future-proof automation strategies by avoiding vendor lock-in.

LangChain CEO Harrison Chase noted the significance of this collaboration: “Our collaboration with UiPath on the Agent Protocol ensures that LangGraph agents can seamlessly participate in UiPath automations, broadening their reach and enabling developers to build more cohesive, cross-platform workflows.”

Document processing and real-world UI interaction

UiPath also announced new capabilities for document processing through its IXP (Intelligent Xtraction & Processing) solution. IXP uses multimodal AI to handle unstructured data in complex enterprise scenarios such as insurance claims, loan applications, and medical records. Designed for scalability, it brings enterprise-grade automation to traditionally manual tasks.

The platform also includes a new UI Agent, currently in private preview, which understands user intent and performs multi-step tasks across interfaces using natural language input. Malpani added, “This is a major step forward in enabling agents that can navigate real-world enterprise interfaces with precision and purpose.”

Since its private preview in January 2025, the UiPath Platform for agentic automation has already seen over 75,000 agent runs, 11,000 Academy course enrolments, and more than 450 partners beginning or completing agentic automation training. Over 30 partner badges have also been awarded to those on the Fast Track programme.

Highlighting the platform’s impact, Lawrence Fong, Director of Digital and IT at Cathay, commented, “Our partnership with UiPath has elevated Cathay’s digital leadership in the aviation industry by harnessing the full power of automation, AI, and generative AI. Agentic automation is the next big leap in AI transformation that will allow companies to rapidly scale, make smarter decisions, and quickly adapt to changing business demands.”
