Located in Senai, Johor, the site spans about 236,000 square feet, or 21,900 square metres. Vertiv said the facility will support customers across Southeast Asia, North Asia, Australia, and New Zealand with manufacturing, engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities for power, cooling, and integrated infrastructure systems.
Johor site adds regional capacity
The facility supports manufacturing, assembly, and witness testing for advanced thermal and power infrastructure. Vertiv said these capabilities are intended to help enterprise, cloud, and colocation customers reduce deployment risk and bring new infrastructure capacity online more quickly.
The investment comes as AI workloads place greater pressure on data centre power and cooling systems. Higher-density computing environments require infrastructure that can manage greater heat output, support faster build-outs, and be validated before deployment.

“Asia continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions for AI and digital infrastructure investment, and expanding our manufacturing footprint in Malaysia aims to further enhance our ability to support customers with quality, speed, scale, and resilience,” said Giordano (Gio) Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv. “This facility represents another important step in our continuous capacity planning and deployment strategy as we further expand our regional and global manufacturing capabilities.”
Albertazzi added that changing compute requirements across multiple generations of AI infrastructure are increasing demand for power, cooling, and infrastructure solutions at scale.
Focus on liquid cooling and modular power
The Johor facility will support large-scale thermal management, power, and infrastructure systems for AI and traditional applications.
These include Vertiv CoolChip coolant distribution units, which support liquid cooling applications such as direct-to-chip cooling and rear door heat exchangers for high-density racks. The site will also support Vertiv Power Module and Vertiv Power Skid, prefabricated power systems that the company said can speed up power system deployment by up to 50% compared with traditional builds.
Vertiv SmartRun, an integrated prefabricated overhead infrastructure system, will also be supported at the facility. The system brings together high-density busway, liquid cooling piping networking, and containment for white space fit-outs. Vertiv said it can reduce on-site deployment time by up to 85% compared with traditional methods.
The facility includes automation tools, end-of-line testing processes, flushing and validation environments, and dedicated areas to test liquid cooling and integrated power systems under real-world conditions before deployment. It will be able to test coolant distribution units across a full range of capacities, as well as multiple power modules and skids simultaneously.
Vertiv said the site operates under its global quality management standards and complies with ISO standards.
Up to 500 skilled jobs expected by 2027
The facility is expected to create up to 500 skilled jobs in the region when fully operationalised in 2027.
Tuan Haji Natazha Hariss, Chief Executive Officer of Invest Johor, described the investment as part of Johor’s push into digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing.

“We are pleased to welcome Vertiv’s investment in Johor, which reflects the growing confidence in the state’s role as a strategic hub for digital infrastructure and advanced manufacturing. Beyond the capital investment, what is especially meaningful is the creation of high-value jobs, opportunities for local talent development, and stronger industry capabilities that will benefit Johor over the long term.”
Paul Churchill, vice president and general manager for Vertiv Asia, pointed to Johor’s regional connectivity, expanding technology ecosystem, and skilled local talent pool as reasons for the location. Vertiv said the facility will help the company support complex infrastructure deployments across Asia through closer regional collaboration and more responsive execution.
