Yamaha Motor strengthens global data infrastructure with Informatica’s AI-powered master data management

Yamaha Motor partners with Informatica to unify global data systems with AI-powered master data management for efficiency and growth.

Yamaha Motor has partnered with Informatica to modernise how it manages critical data across its global operations. The Japanese transportation equipment manufacturer will implement Informatica’s AI-driven Master Data Management (MDM) solution to unify complex, fragmented data systems and support its ongoing digital transformation.

Tackling fragmented data systems worldwide

Yamaha Motor faced significant challenges in managing large volumes of data scattered across its manufacturing and business operations in different regions. Its global enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems used varied data standards and formats, making it difficult to harmonise information or share consistent master data among group companies. This lack of integration hindered operational efficiency and limited the company’s ability to make timely, informed decisions.

To address these issues, Yamaha Motor is deploying Informatica’s multidomain MDM software-as-a-service platform. Powered by Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine, the solution will streamline and centralise data from multiple domains and departments, creating a unified 360-degree view of the organisation’s data. This approach is designed to improve productivity, speed up data discovery and ensure accurate, consistent information for decision-making and reporting.

Supporting sustainable growth and resilience

According to Toyoto Ono, Chief General Manager of Yamaha Motor’s IT Centre, the new data platform will connect regional ERP systems with the company’s proprietary systems, allowing trusted master data management on a global scale. “This platform enhances decision-making, forecasting and reporting processes, while driving productivity improvements and cost efficiencies through the effective ERP system deployment and maintenance,” Ono said. “It represents a vital step in establishing a robust foundation to support our sustainable business growth and strengthen organisational resilience.”

The project will help Yamaha Motor achieve better data governance and operational agility, paving the way for greater innovation. By unifying its data ecosystem, the company expects to accelerate digital transformation, improve accuracy in analytics and reduce the cost and complexity of maintaining diverse systems.

Strategic partnership for data-driven transformation

Informatica sees this collaboration as a milestone in enabling Japanese enterprises to modernise their data infrastructure. “We are very pleased to partner with Yamaha Motor as they modernise their global data management infrastructure,” said Taito Kozawa, Country Manager and Vice President of Informatica Japan. “Together, we are supporting their goal to strengthen data-driven decision-making and accelerate AI and digital transformation. As many organisations in Japan pursue similar initiatives, we remain committed to working with our customers to help them realise meaningful business values through our AI-powered platform and capabilities.”

This move highlights Yamaha Motor’s commitment to innovation and efficiency as it adapts to an increasingly data-driven global market. The company expects the new system to improve collaboration across business units and provide the reliable insights needed to respond to changing market conditions and customer needs.
