Amazon brings back the Echo Spot smart alarm clock for Prime Day

Amazon reintroduces the Echo Spot smart alarm clock for Prime Day, featuring improved sound, a sharper display, and no camera.

Amazon has unveiled a new Echo Spot, reviving the smart alarm clock for Prime Day. This latest version is similar to the original model from 2017, which was discontinued two years later. The main difference is the front face, now divided between a hemispherical display and a speaker.

Improved features and design

The new Echo Spot boasts enhanced sound quality and a sharper display. While it’s uncertain if the previous model’s screen flicker issues have been resolved, the primary functions remain the same. This smart alarm clock, integrated with Alexa, can perform simple tasks like showing the weather forecast and displaying song titles when you play music from your favorite streaming app.

Notably, the new Echo Spot is camera-free, a feature that many customers appreciate. This version is designed to be a reliable and unobtrusive alarm clock.

Customisable and affordable

The Echo Spot’s outer shell is available in black, glacier white, and ocean blue. The display can be personalized with six color optionsโ€”magenta, violet, orange, lime, teal, or blueโ€”mixed and matched with various clock faces.

Priced at US$80, the new Echo Spot is US$50 cheaper than its predecessor. Prime members can snag it for an even lower price of US$45 during Prime Day.

The return of the Echo Spot offers a more refined and affordable option for those seeking a simple, smart alarm clock without the intrusion of a camera.
