Apple introduces MagSafe charger with Qi2 25W in Singapore

Apple launches MagSafe charger with Qi2 25W and a 40W Dynamic Power Adapter in Singapore, offering faster wireless and fast charging.

Apple has launched two new charging accessories for the iPhone, including an updated MagSafe charger with Qi2 25W certification and a 40W Dynamic Power Adapter capable of delivering up to 60W. Both products have appeared in Apple’s Singapore store, though availability details remain limited.

Faster wireless charging with Qi2 25W

At first glance, the MagSafe charger looks identical to last year’s model, but the upgrade lies in its support for Qi2 25W. This new standard is the official branding for Qi2.2, offering faster 25W wireless charging compared to the previous 15W speeds.

The updated MagSafe charger is compatible with the iPhone 8 and later, as well as AirPods models that come with a wireless charging case. However, Apple has kept its magnetic alignment feature exclusive to the iPhone 12 series and newer models, ensuring precise placement for the most efficient charging.

The introduction of Qi2 25W gives Apple users a speed boost when charging wirelessly, narrowing the gap between wired and wireless performance. It also aligns Apple’s offering with the wider Qi2 standard, which is being adopted across the industry.

New 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W max output

Alongside the MagSafe charger, Apple has added the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max to its official line-up. According to the company, the adapter can dynamically adjust its power delivery, providing up to 60W output when required to fast-charge supported iPhones.

Apple claims the adapter can charge the latest iPhone 17 models to 50% in around 20 minutes. It can also take the iPhone Air from 0% to 50% in roughly 30 minutes, offering significant improvements for users who rely on fast charging during busy schedules.

The addition of this accessory highlights Apple’s ongoing effort to streamline charging speeds and efficiency across its device ecosystem.

Pricing and availability in Singapore

In Singapore, the 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is priced at S$59. However, it has not yet been listed for purchase on the Apple Singapore Online Store.

The Qi2 25W-certified MagSafe charger is offered in two cable lengths: a 1-metre version at S$59 and a 2-metre version at S$79. At the time of publication, the listing does not include options for shipment or in-store pick-up, though availability is expected to align with the release of the new iPhone models.

Apple has not yet confirmed an exact release date for either product, but further details are likely to follow as the company prepares for the retail debut of its latest smartphones.
