ASUS announces “AI PC” with Snapdragon X Elite chipset ahead of Computex 2024

ASUS sets a virtual event for May 21 to unveil the new AI PC with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite, promising advanced AI capabilities.

ASUS has announced May 21 as the date for its upcoming virtual event where it will unveil its latest innovation, the ASUS AI PC. Scheduled to start at 4 AM Singapore Time, the event is set to introduce a premium laptop equipped with groundbreaking AI capabilities.

Titled “Next Level, AI Incredible,” the online-only event will feature the new Snapdragon X Elite chipset from Qualcomm, marking a significant collaboration between ASUS, Qualcomm, and Microsoft. This chipset is reported to deliver a performance of up to 45 TOPS, positioning it ahead of Apple’s latest M4 chips, which boast capabilities up to 38 TOPS. The performance figures come amidst scepticism, with Qualcomm facing allegations of benchmark inflation.

The ASUS AI PC is anticipated to succeed the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED, as per insights from Laptop Mag and other tech publications. This launch not only highlights the laptop’s innovative features but also sets the stage for its physical showcase at Computex 2024 in Taipei, Taiwan.

At Computex, attendees will have the chance to experience the new “AI PC” firsthand. This event, separate from the virtual launch, will allow ASUS to demonstrate the AI solutions enabled by this new technology in various notebook formats. The Computex showcase is scheduled for June 3, 2024, at 4 PM SGT and will also be live-streamed across ASUS’s social media channels, covering announcements for the enterprise, commercial, and consumer sectors. The ASUS booth will be located at M0519a, with the ROG booth close by at M0509a.

Through these events, ASUS aims to assert its leadership in integrating AI technology within the personal computing space, offering enhanced functionalities that cater to both consumer and professional needs.
