Asus opens pre-orders for its dual-screen ROG Zephyrus Duo gaming laptop with OLED displays, starting at US$4,500.
Asus has opened pre-orders for its latest dual-screen gaming laptop, the ROG Zephyrus Duo, following its CES 2026 showcase. The company has revived the distinctive dual-display concept with a redesigned model that features two full-sized screens and high-end gaming hardware. Prices begin at US$4,500, placing the device firmly in the premium segment.

The new model represents a significant redesign compared with the previous 2023 version, which featured a smaller secondary display. In contrast, the latest Zephyrus Duo introduces two large 16-inch OLED displays intended to support demanding tasks such as gaming, streaming and professional content creation. Asus described the device as the “world’s first 16-inch dual-screen gaming laptop”, highlighting its unique form factor within the gaming laptop market.
Dual OLED screens designed for multitasking and creativity
The standout feature of the ROG Zephyrus Duo is its pair of 16-inch 3K HDR OLED touchscreens. Together, the displays provide a combined diagonal viewing space equivalent to 21 inches, offering users more room to manage multiple applications or creative workflows. Both screens are certified to the DisplayHDR True Black 1000 standard and can reach a peak HDR brightness of up to 1,100 nits.
Each display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 0.2-millisecond response time, designed to deliver smooth visuals during fast-paced gaming and video playback. However, only the primary display supports NVIDIA G-Sync technology, which helps reduce screen tearing and stuttering during gameplay.
The device also introduces a detachable magnetic Bluetooth keyboard designed to complement the dual-screen layout. Despite its slim 5.1mm profile, the keyboard offers 1.7mm of key travel and includes a large integrated touchpad. The hardware’s flexibility allows users to switch between five dedicated operating modes based on their needs.
In Dual Screen mode, the keyboard can be removed entirely to maximise display space. Laptop mode restores a conventional laptop setup with a keyboard placed over the lower screen area. Sharing mode allows the device to lie flat at 180 degrees for collaborative viewing, while Book mode positions both displays vertically in portrait orientation. Tent mode supports an A-frame arrangement, which is useful for presentations or for viewing media without using the keyboard.
High-performance components target gamers and creators
Inside the chassis, the ROG Zephyrus Duo is powered by a 16-core Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor, paired with either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 or RTX 5090 GPU. The GPUs can reach a maximum total graphics power of 135 watts, enabling support for modern gaming features and intensive creative workloads.
The RTX 5090 configuration represents NVIDIA’s flagship mobile graphics offering and includes advanced technologies such as DLSS 4, frame generation and fourth-generation ray-tracing cores. These features are designed to enhance visual quality while maintaining strong performance in modern titles and demanding software applications.
To support the high-performance components, Asus has redesigned the laptop’s internal structure. The system includes a larger vapour chamber cooling solution and dual-fan setup intended to maintain stable temperatures during extended use. This cooling design is particularly important for dual-screen systems, which generate additional heat due to their expanded display hardware.
The laptop also includes 32GB of memory and 1TB of PCIe 5.0 storage as standard across configurations. These specifications position the Zephyrus Duo as a capable machine for both gaming and professional workloads such as video editing, 3D rendering and software development.
Premium build and pricing reflect flagship positioning
The ROG Zephyrus Duo is housed in a CNC-milled aluminium chassis finished in a new “Stellar Grey” colour. The exterior features what Asus calls a “Slash” lighting array, which includes 35 discrete lighting zones designed to provide customisable visual effects. The overall design aims to balance durability with the distinctive visual style often associated with high-end gaming devices.
Asus has confirmed that pre-orders are available directly through its official channels and selected retail partners, including Newegg. Pricing begins at US$4,500 for the configuration featuring the RTX 5070Ti graphics processor. A higher-end version equipped with the RTX 5090 is priced from US$5,500, making it one of the most expensive gaming laptops currently available in the consumer market.
The launch of the redesigned Zephyrus Duo reflects Asus’s continued focus on unconventional hardware concepts that appeal to enthusiasts seeking alternative computing experiences. Dual-screen laptops remain a niche category, but advances in display technology and processing power have made such designs more practical for professional and gaming use.
By combining dual OLED screens with flagship-level hardware, Asus is targeting users who require extensive screen space and performance in a portable form factor. The high price point, however, suggests that the device is primarily aimed at professionals, content creators and dedicated gamers rather than mainstream laptop buyers.
