ASUS ROG confirms January 2026 launch of the Strix XG27AQNGV, a 27-inch QHD esports monitor with 360Hz refresh and G-SYNC Pulsar.
ASUS Republic of Gamers has announced that the ROG Strix XG27AQNGV esports gaming monitor will be available globally in January 2026. The 27-inch display is aimed at competitive players who prioritise high refresh rates, low latency, and improved motion clarity, without the need to upgrade existing PC hardware.

The Strix XG27AQNGV features a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 and uses ASUS Ultrafast IPS technology to deliver a 1 millisecond grey-to-grey response time. The panel supports refresh rates of up to 360Hz, positioning it for fast-paced competitive gaming where smooth motion and rapid response are critical. ASUS states that the monitor has been designed to give players greater control over their viewing experience while maintaining consistency across different gaming scenarios.
The monitor will be available at an MSRP of US$649. Its launch in January 2026 follows a formal announcement made at the CES. As part of the ROG Strix series, the XG27AQNGV is positioned within ASUS’s esports-focused product line-up, targeting enthusiast and professional-level gamers.
Motion clarity driven by G-SYNC Pulsar technology
A key feature of the Strix XG27AQNGV is its built-in NVIDIA G-SYNC processor paired with next-generation G-SYNC Pulsar technology. This combination is designed to deliver up to four times the effective motion clarity of traditional LCD panels by integrating variable refresh rate with advanced backlight strobing. ASUS highlights that this improvement can be achieved without additional demands on the CPU or GPU.
According to the company, achieving a similar level of motion clarity through refresh rate alone would theoretically require a monitor capable of exceeding 1000Hz. G-SYNC Pulsar instead provides this effect through a single feature toggle, reducing perceived blur while preserving smooth, tear-free gameplay. This approach is intended to support competitive players who rely on precise visual tracking during rapid on-screen movement.
The monitor also supports ULMB 2 and maintains stable performance at high refresh rates. Combined with its native 360Hz capability, the Strix XG27AQNGV is designed to minimise motion artefacts and input latency. ASUS positions this configuration as delivering among the lowest latency experiences in its category, particularly when paired with compatible NVIDIA graphics hardware.
Adaptive viewing and esports-focused display modes
Beyond performance metrics, the Strix XG27AQNGV includes features intended to improve comfort during extended gaming sessions. G-SYNC Ambient Adaptive technology uses a built-in light sensor to detect environmental lighting and automatically adjust screen brightness and colour temperature. This allows the display to maintain a more consistent and comfortable viewing experience as lighting conditions change.
The monitor also includes an esports Dual Mode, enabling the 27-inch panel to be resized to a 25-inch diagonal display. This mode supports either a standard 1080p resolution or a pixel-perfect 2368 x 1332 option. ASUS notes that many competitive players prefer a smaller screen size for faster eye movement and focus, and Dual Mode is designed to replicate that experience without introducing noticeable latency.
ASUS states that there is almost no perceivable latency difference when operating in Dual Mode compared with the full 27-inch display. This allows players to switch between a larger, more immersive QHD experience and a more concentrated competitive setup depending on the game or personal preference.
Connectivity, design, and product positioning
To support a broad range of devices, the Strix XG27AQNGV offers DisplayPort 1.4 with DSC support, two HDMI 2.1 ports, a USB hub with two USB 3.2 ports, and an earphone jack. This connectivity setup is designed to accommodate high-end gaming PCs, modern consoles, and additional peripherals without the need for adapters.
The monitor includes tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment, along with VESA mounting support. It features a non-glare display surface, wide 178-degree viewing angles, and support for 10-bit colour with over one billion colours. Brightness is rated at 400 cd/m² in SDR mode and up to 500 cd/m² when HDR is enabled.
With its combination of high refresh rates, adaptive technologies, and flexible display modes, ASUS is positioning the Strix XG27AQNGV as a premium esports monitor built for competitive play. The product reinforces the company’s focus on delivering performance-driven displays that emphasise speed, clarity, and adaptability within a single solution.
