Beyerdynamic’s retro-style Aventho 100 headphones now offer 60-hour battery life and more upgrades

Beyerdynamic's new Aventho 100 headphones offer 60-hour battery life, aptX Lossless support, USB-C connectivity, and an improved design at a lower price.

Beyerdynamic has brought back the charm of its ’70s-inspired design with a modern twist in the newly released Aventho 100 wireless headphones. Suppose you remember the original Aventho Wireless model from 2017. In that case, you’ll notice that this second-generation version retains the familiar look and sound quality, while adding much-needed improvements, especially in battery life and connectivity.

Longer battery life, lower price

You’ll be pleased to hear that the new Aventho 100 can now deliver up to 60 hours of listening time on a single charge, or 40 hours if you use the active noise cancellation feature. That’s triple the battery life of the original, which managed only 20 hours and didn’t even include noise cancellation. If you’re in a rush, a quick 15-minute charge provides an extra 15 hours of playback so that you won’t be left without your music for long.

Even better news is the price. The Aventho 100 is launching at a significantly lower price than its predecessor. In Canada, you can purchase it on Amazon.ca for CA$299.99, which is approximately equivalent to US$220. In Europe, it’s available through Beyerdynamic’s website for €199, with three colour options—black, brown, and cream. This is a noticeable drop from the original model, which debuted at €449 (around US$525). While there’s no exact date yet, the company says global availability, including in the US, is coming soon.

New tech upgrades and comfort improvements

You’ll notice more than just a longer battery life. Beyerdynamic has upgraded the Bluetooth support to version 5.4, incorporating Qualcomm’s aptX Lossless and Adaptive codecs for high-quality audio streaming. This means you get a better connection and improved sound quality, especially useful for audiophiles and frequent listeners.

For phone calls, the headphones now feature Qualcomm’s Clear Voice Capture technology, which helps to filter out background noise for clearer conversations. They also now charge through a USB-C port, a welcome change from older micro-USB options.

And if you ever wear out the ear pads, you don’t have to discard the entire headset. The Aventho 100 includes replaceable ear cushions, which are both convenient and eco-friendly. A small but smart detail: the thin wire connecting the ear cups is now wrapped in a braided covering, adding durability and a cleaner look.

Vintage look, modern features

While the Aventho 100 headphones are slightly bulkier than the original due to a larger battery, they still follow the sleek and stylish lines of Beyerdynamic’s now-discontinued T51i wired headphones. The extra size is a worthwhile trade-off for the huge jump in power and features.

If you ever run out of battery completely, don’t worry—you can still plug in the included 3.5mm audio cable and keep listening the old-fashioned way. Whether you’re an audiophile seeking high-fidelity sound, a traveller requiring long battery life, or someone who appreciates retro design, the Aventho 100 could be your ideal choice.
