Both Naoe and Yasuke bring unique gameplay to Assassin’s Creed Shadows, says Ubisoft

Discover Assassin's Creed Shadows, where you can play as Naoe or Yasuke, each offering unique gameplay experiences in 16th-century Japan.

The Assassin’s Creed series continues to evolve with its latest instalment, Shadows, set in 16th-century feudal Japan. This new game introduces a character system similar to that seen in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, offering two playable protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke, each with unique gameplay experiences.

Naoe: Master of stealth

Naoe, the agile Shinobi assassin, embodies the classic stealth-focused playstyle that Assassin’s Creed fans love. The trailer showcases her using a grappling hook for air assassinations, kunai knives, and a hidden blade. Her ability to attack swiftly from the shadows and deflect attacks during direct combat makes her ideal for players who prefer a silent and strategic approach. For instance, Naoe can perform a unique ‘Shadow Strike’ move, allowing her to instantly eliminate enemies from a distance without alerting others.

Yasuke: The formidable warrior

In contrast, Yasuke is a brute who excels in head-on confrontations. He wields various Samurai weapons, including kanabos (clubs), katanas, and the tanegashima rifle. The trailer shows him taking on multiple enemies simultaneously, using different attack combinations thanks to his diverse arsenal. Yasuke’s combat style is perfect for players who enjoy direct and consequential engagements.

Immerse yourself in the unique challenges and experiences of Naoe and Yasuke in Japan’s open-world setting. This feature allows you to adapt your gameplay style to different situations, choosing between Naoe’s stealthy tactics and Yasuke’s forceful combat. Just like in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, there will be character-locked missions for Naoe and Yasuke, ensuring that each character has a unique storyline and set of challenges.

Release details

Get ready for the highly anticipated release of Assassin’s Creed Shadows on November 15, available on multiple platforms, including PC, Mac, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. This game promises an engaging and immersive experience in a richly detailed world. Stay tuned for more updates and information on the various editions of the game.
