Cisco launches Splunk Observability Cloud on AWS in Singapore

Cisco launches Splunk Observability Cloud on AWS in Singapore to help businesses improve system resilience, data control, and innovation.

Cisco has announced the general availability of Splunk Observability Cloud in Singapore through the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Asia Pacific (Singapore) Region. The launch follows an early access period that began in August and aims to help organisations simplify IT operations, strengthen digital resilience, and support innovation at scale.

Unified observability to meet growing operational demands

With digital transformation accelerating across industries, IT and engineering teams face rising complexity in managing systems and applications. Splunk Observability Cloud offers a single platform to monitor the health and performance of applications, services, and infrastructure using metrics, traces, and logs. Built on an OpenTelemetry-native framework, the platform turns complex operational data into actionable insights, enabling faster issue resolution and improved system reliability.

By hosting the service locally on AWS, organisations in Singapore can gain greater control over data and costs while benefiting from low-latency performance and improved compliance with in-country data retention and regulatory requirements. This move aligns with Singapore’s Smart Nation policy and the upcoming Digital Infrastructure Act, which emphasises secure and resilient digital frameworks for critical industries such as banking, transportation, and telecommunications .

Supporting innovation and reducing operational strain

Singapore’s technology sector continues to lead the Asia Pacific region in digital innovation, but this growth has placed pressure on IT teams. Splunk’s latest State of Observability report shows that local teams launched the highest number of new digital products and services in Asia Pacific last year. However, 82 per cent of teams reported key members leaving due to burnout caused by operational strain and alert fatigue .

Splunk Observability Cloud aims to address these challenges by delivering real-time, unsampled insights across infrastructure and user experience. The platform allows enterprises to access and query large volumes of data on demand without requiring full ingestion, making cloud operations more cost-efficient and scalable. Christine Low, Head of Observability, APJC, Splunk, said the local launch will give teams “the ability to manage their applications in real time, keep data in-country, and use simplified pricing to tackle growing data volume efficiently.”

Robert Pizzari, Group Vice President of Asia at Splunk, added that observability helps businesses anticipate and navigate operational challenges. “In fast-moving markets like Asia, the ability to proactively monitor systems and resolve issues quickly is key to sustaining both innovation and customer trust,” he said.

Enhancing resilience with AWS infrastructure

Deploying Splunk Observability Cloud in the AWS Singapore Region provides the foundation for reliable and high-performance digital operations. AWS Regions consist of multiple Availability Zones, each with independent power, cooling, and security, connected by ultra-low-latency networks. This design supports high availability while ensuring data remains within Singapore.

Cisco’s broader observability portfolio includes Splunk IT Service Intelligence and Splunk AppDynamics, offering enterprises end-to-end visibility and control over digital environments. The integration with AWS builds on over a decade of collaboration between the two companies, strengthening their shared focus on secure, scalable, and innovative solutions .
