Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Finals 2024: Get ready for the ultimate e-Motorsports showdown

The Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo Cup Asia Finals 2024 will see top racers from five countries compete for a spot in the Global Finals on 13 October in Kuala Lumpur.

The Gazoo Racing Gran Turismo (GR GT) Cup Asia Finals 2024 is set to take place on 13 October 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Organised by Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia, this highly anticipated e-Motorsports event will see the top 15 racers from across the region battling it out on “Gran Turismo 7” for a chance to represent Asia in the global GR GT Cup later this year.

Racers from Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand have earned their spots in the finals after competing in local qualifying races. Among the 15 finalists are returning champions, including Indonesia’s Andika Rama, who has been a top-three finisher for the past two years, and crowd favourites Taj Aiman from Malaysia and Thanaphat Pungphat from Thailand, who have impressed since their debut in 2022.

The event will be held at the Connexion Conference and Event Centre, a venue equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to offer both participants and spectators an immersive racing experience. The finals will be broadcast live on Toyota Gazoo Racing Asia’s Facebook page, with additional coverage on market-specific X accounts and YouTube channels.

Exciting format and top-tier talent

The GR GT Cup Asia Finals will follow a competitive format featuring three high-stakes races across iconic racetracks. Racers will face familiar yet challenging circuits, including Sardegna Windmills, Nürburgring GP, and Fuji Speedway, each requiring a blend of speed, skill, and strategy. The overall winner will be decided based on a point system, with the top two racers earning coveted spots in the Global Finals.

Fans of e-Motorsports can expect an intense and thrilling showdown, with a prize pool of over US$61,000 at stake. The competition showcases not only the racers’ skills but also the passion and commitment that defines the spirit of motorsports.

The GR GT Cup Asia Finals is more than just a competition; it’s a platform for discovering new talent and furthering Toyota’s mission of pushing the limits of both virtual and physical racing. The event not only highlights the top racers in Asia but also reflects Toyota’s dedication to advancing mobility solutions and enhancing the appeal of motorsports across the Asia-Pacific region.

Spectators can expect an action-packed event, hosted by Singapore’s Victoria Cheng, with commentary from a panel of experienced commentators, including Dez Corkhill, Amir Haziq, Ari Saputra, and others. The excitement doesn’t end with the races, as the event will also feature an afterparty with DJ sets from Sun Rae and Joey G.

With its focus on nurturing young talent and creating unique racing experiences, the GR GT Cup Asia Finals 2024 is set to be an unforgettable celebration of e-Motorsports.
