The gathering comes as artificial intelligence spending in Asia-Pacific is projected to reach US$78 billion by 2026, reflecting continued enterprise and government investment across sectors such as healthcare, finance and public services. At the same time, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia are projected to account for 40% of global data centre capacity by 2030, forming a key infrastructure base for AI deployment.
Singapore’s computing position in focus
Singapore’s role as a computing hub is a central theme at the event. The country produces around 15% of global semiconductor output and hosts a number of advanced AI research centres. A new quantum research and development centre launched in March 2026 adds to efforts to accelerate industrial applications and expand intellectual property development.
Speakers at the event include policymakers and industry leaders addressing AI deployment and governance. Kotaro Tamura, Japan’s former senator and vice minister for fiscal and economic policy, is scheduled to discuss regional coordination in AI development. Ken Lin, CEO and co-founder of Aires Applied Quantum Technologies, will address the balance between commercial deployment and long-term trust considerations. He said: “We have built proprietary deep tech in quantum that reaffirms Singapore’s burgeoning base of intellectual property (IP). GITEX AI ASIA is perfectly positioned to showcase the depth and maturity of this ecosystem to the world.”
Industry participation across infrastructure and telecoms
Companies presenting at the event include Gorilla Technology and Ericsson, reflecting a mix of infrastructure, networking and enterprise technology players.
Gorilla Technology will showcase systems designed for security intelligence, network intelligence and data-driven urban infrastructure. Jay Chandan, CEO and chairman of Gorilla Technology, said: “It’s crucial for nations to integrate their intelligent infrastructures, security frameworks & smart city platforms to sustain digital growth at scale. Global collaboration platforms like GITEX AI ASIA are pivotal in enabling this scalability.”
Ericsson will also participate, focusing on AI, 5G and cloud technologies. Yasin Khan, CTO for mission critical networks and enterprise in Southeast Asia, Oceania and India, said: “What distinguishes GITEX AI ASIA is its ability to bring together the entire innovation chain, from startups, enterprises and academia to technology partners, solution providers and policymakers, into a single environment where meaningful partnerships can strengthen connectivity in the demanding AI age.”
The event will also feature country pavilions from markets including Australia, China, Germany, India, Singapore and South Korea, alongside debut participation from Belgium, Canada and the Philippines.
Investors turn to Asia’s deep-tech pipeline
The investor programme will bring together venture capital firms, corporate investors and family offices seeking exposure to Asia’s AI and deep-tech sector. Participating investors are collectively managing more than US$350 billion in assets.
QAI Ventures is among the firms attending, with a focus on expanding its presence in Asia-Pacific.
