Google Pixel 9 series to feature brighter OLED displays

The upcoming Google Pixel 9 series will feature brighter and more durable OLED displays, advanced AI features, and a new Gemini assistant.

Google is set to impress with brighter displays in the upcoming Pixel 9 series.

According to Android Authority, a reliable source at Google has revealed that the Pixel 9 lineup will feature Samsung’s latest M14 OLED technology. This new technology promises higher brightness levels and improved durability for the displays.

Significant upgrades in display brightness

The Pixel 9 base model is expected to come with a new 1,800-nit display, a noticeable improvement from the 1,400-nit display found in the Pixel 8. This enhancement ensures a more transparent and vibrant viewing experience, especially in bright conditions.

Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro models are anticipated to feature an impressive 2,050-nit display. This is a substantial upgrade from the Pixel 8 Pro’s 1,600-nit display, offering users a significantly brighter screen that enhances visibility and colour accuracy, even in direct sunlight.

Exciting new features

Google recently released a 30-second trailer for the Pixel 9 Pro, highlighting its advanced features. The trailer showcases the new Gemini AI assistant, which is set to revolutionise user interaction with the device. Alongside Gemini, the trailer also highlights other Pixel AI features that promise to make everyday tasks more accessible and intuitive.

Upcoming launch event

The Pixel 9 lineup has already been listed on the IMDA’s certification portal, indicating its imminent release. Alongside the Pixel 9 series, the Pixel Watch 3 is also expected to be unveiled soon.

Google has scheduled a Pixel hardware event for August 13 at 10 a.m. PT (August 14 at 1 a.m. SGT). Tech enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating this event to see the new features and improvements that the Pixel 9 series will bring.

With these new developments, Google is clearly committed to enhancing the user experience with brighter and more durable displays, advanced AI features, and seamless hardware and software integration. The Pixel 9 series is shaping up to be a significant step forward in smartphone technology.
