Honor 200 series smartphones are arriving in Singapore

Discover the arrival of the Honor 200 series smartphones in Singapore, featuring advanced photography and powerful processors, available on August 1, 2024.

After making waves in China in May 2024, launching in Europe in June, and debuting in India in July, the Honor 200 series smartphones are finally set to arrive in Singapore. These smartphones, known for their exceptional photography capabilities, will be available starting August 1, 2024.

What the Honor 200 series offers

The Honor 200 series consists of three models: the Honor 200, Honor 200 Pro, and Honor 200 Lite. However, only the Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro will be available in Singapore, while the Honor 200 Lite will not be launched here. The main highlight of these phones is their advanced photography features, achieved without any traditional camera brand partnership.

Honor collaborated with the renowned French photography house Studio Harcourt to enhance the imaging capabilities of the Honor 200 series. Together, they developed the Honor AI Portrait Engine, combining Studio Harcourt’s tuning and colour science expertise to deliver studio-quality portraits.

According to Honor, the development process involved 400 days of work, 20 experts from Studio Harcourt, and the analysis of over 1,000 lighting scenarios. This resulted in millions of data points to achieve the signature Studio Harcourt look and feel in the Honor 200 series’ portrait photography.

Hardware and camera specifications

The Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro feature a 50MP primary camera with a Super Dynamic H9000 sensor, similar to the Honor Magic6 Pro. The primary camera also boasts 4-in-1 pixel binning for enhanced low-light photography. Additionally, the phones have a 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom and optical image stabilisation (OIS), a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP front-facing selfie camera.

The critical difference between the two models lies in their chipsets. The Honor 200 is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, while the Honor 200 Pro features the more advanced Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, the same processor found in the Poco F6. Although Honor Singapore refers to the N-series as “entry-level,” these chipsets cater to midrange and flagship-lite segments.

Both models have similar displays. They sport 120Hz OLED panels with HDR support and a peak brightness of 4,000 nits. The Honor 200 has a 6.7-inch display with a resolution of 2,664 x 1,200 pixels, while the Honor 200 Pro offers a slightly larger 6.78-inch display with a 2,700 x 1,224 pixels resolution.

Both phones have a 5,200mAh battery and support 100W wired fast charging. Unlike the standard Honor 200, the Honor 200 Pro also supports 66W wireless fast charging.

Software and features

The Honor 200 series runs on MagicOS 8.0, based on Android 14, and is compatible with Google Mobile Services and the Google Play Store. MagicOS 8.0 includes Honor’s MagicLLM features, previously seen in the Magic6 Pro, enhancing the user experience with advanced AI capabilities.

The Honor 200 and Honor 200 Pro will be available in Singapore on August 1, 2024. Honor Singapore will provide details on pricing, purchasing options, and promotions closer to the launch date.
