Netgear launches budget-friendly Orbi 370 Wi-Fi 7 mesh system

Netgear introduces the Orbi 370, its most affordable Wi-Fi 7 mesh router system, starting at US$349.99 for a three-pack.

Netgear has unveiled its most affordable Wi-Fi 7 mesh system to date with the release of the Orbi 370. Designed for consumers seeking high-speed wireless connectivity at a lower price point, the new model is significantly more affordable than Netgear’s existing premium offerings, while still providing key Wi-Fi 7 features aimed at enhancing speed, coverage, and stability.

Priced at US$349.99, the Orbi 370 three-pack comprises a router and two satellites, making it an attractive option for households seeking to upgrade their home networks without incurring significant costs. For smaller homes or flats, a more compact two-pack — containing one router and one satellite — is available for US$249.99. Customers can also purchase extra satellites individually for US$149.99 to expand the mesh network’s coverage.

Designed for everyday users

Netgear is positioning the Orbi 370 as an ideal solution for growing families and users with “moderately demanding Wi-Fi needs”. While it may not match the capabilities of higher-end models like the Orbi 870 or the US$999.99 Orbi 770 series launched in 2024, the Orbi 370 still delivers strong performance thanks to its support for Wi-Fi 7 technology.

The system is capable of reaching wireless speeds of up to 5Gbps and is compatible with all internet service providers. Both the main router and its satellites are equipped with integrated 2.5Gbps Ethernet ports, allowing users to hardwire devices such as gaming consoles, desktop PCs or smart TVs for a more stable and reliable connection.

The Orbi 370 operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequency bands and utilises Multi-Link Operation (MLO), a Wi-Fi 7 feature that allows simultaneous use of both bands. This function can improve download speeds, reduce latency and increase overall network stability for supported devices.

Future-ready but backwards compatible

Although Wi-Fi 7-enabled devices remain relatively rare, the Orbi 370 offers backwards compatibility with Wi-Fi 4, 5, 6, and 6E. This ensures that users can enjoy immediate improvements in stability and coverage while preparing their networks for future upgrades.

Netgear also notes that the MLO functionality may enhance performance even for older Wi-Fi standards, providing noticeable benefits right away, even if the full potential of Wi-Fi 7 cannot yet be realised without compatible devices.

By introducing a more accessible price point for Wi-Fi 7 mesh networking, Netgear is likely to attract customers who have been holding off on upgrading due to cost. The Orbi 370 is expected to appeal to a broad market, particularly those seeking reliable performance for everyday tasks such as streaming, browsing, and gaming.
