VoidZero secures US$12.5 million Series A to launch unified JavaScript toolchain Vite+

VoidZero raises US$12.5 million Series A to launch Vite+, a unified JavaScript toolchain aimed at boosting developer productivity.

VoidZero, the company behind the next generation of open-source JavaScript tools, has raised US$12.5 million in a Series A funding round led by Accel. The round also saw participation from Peak XV Partners, Sunflower Capital, and prominent angel investors including Koen Bok from Framer and Eric Simons from StackBlitz. The funds will be used to accelerate the commercial launch of its unified JavaScript toolchain, Vite+, expand its team, and further support its open-source projects.

Addressing JavaScript’s fragmentation

JavaScript has long been a cornerstone of modern web development, but its ecosystem has become increasingly fragmented. As applications grow more complex, developers often face inefficiencies caused by disjointed tools, which can lead to productivity losses, increased maintenance costs, and security risks. With more than 28 million developers worldwide, these challenges can have a significant global impact, especially amid growing concerns about supply chain attacks and performance bottlenecks.

Vite+ seeks to tackle these challenges by combining several essential tools—development server, production build, testing, linting, formatting, project scaffolding, and monorepo management—into a single, unified command-line interface. Built on top of VoidZero’s existing open-source projects such as Vite, Vitest, Rolldown, and Oxc, Vite+ aims to deliver consistency, speed, and usability without compromising compatibility with industry standards. Currently, Vite records about 36 million downloads each week, while its testing framework, Vitest, reaches approximately 16 million weekly downloads.

Evan You, Founder and CEO of VoidZero, said, “Our mission is simple: make JavaScript developers dramatically more productive. With Vite+, we’re building a unified, high-performance toolchain that developers can trust across every stage of their workflow. This funding allows us to bring that vision to life faster while supporting the sustainability of our open-source ecosystem.”

Expanding across Asia Pacific

This funding round also highlights Peak XV Partners’ growing commitment to developer innovation across India and the wider Asia Pacific region. With over 11.4 million developers and more than 440,000 organisations on GitHub, India has emerged as one of the fastest-growing developer communities globally. The region’s strong startup and SaaS ecosystem makes it a vital market for developer tools like Vite+.

VoidZero envisions Vite+ as a universal toolkit that simplifies workflows for developers in both startups and large enterprises. By reducing complexity, the company aims to enable teams to focus more on building impactful products instead of managing fragmented tools.

Supporting global innovation

VoidZero’s open-source tools are already used by major companies including OpenAI, Shopify, Stripe, Cloudflare, Hugging Face, and Mercedes-Benz. Its projects were recognised in the 2024 State of JS Survey, and the company maintains design partnerships with notable engineering teams such as Framer and Linear.

Founded in 2023, VoidZero operates as a fully remote company with a team of 17 employees. Its mission centres on enhancing developer productivity through high-performance, unified JavaScript tooling. More information can be found at voidzero.dev.
