New Alienware Pro Headset to launch with hybrid noise cancellation and graphene-coated drivers

The Alienware Pro Headset will launch in October. It offers graphene-coated drivers and Hybrid ANC for a premium gaming experience at US$229.99.

Alienware is set to release its latest gaming accessory, the Alienware Pro Headset, in October across North America, priced at US$229.99. This new addition to Alienware’s product line has been crafted with input from over 100 elite eSports athletes and streamers, including members of the well-known Team Liquid, promising gamers a premium experience tailored to competitive gaming needs.

Alienware has branded the Pro Headset as “eSports-calibre” hardware designed to meet the high demands of competitive gaming environments. The minimalist headset, which will offer sleek, versatile gaming styling, is expected to be available in white and black.

Features designed for competitive gamers

A key feature of the Alienware Pro Headset is using 50mm Graphene Coated Drivers, which provide superior directional audio clarity. These drivers were specifically selected to give gamers the best possible “out-of-box” sound experience. The graphene coating makes the drivers lightweight yet durable, delivering a more responsive sound that boasts increased clarity. According to Alienware, the design enhances sound depth, making in-game audio accurate and immersive while minimising distortion, especially at higher frequencies.

The use of Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) technology in this headset also sets it apart from many other gaming headsets on the market. This tech ensures a better and more refined noise-cancelling experience, reducing background distractions so you can fully focus on your game. Alienware has emphasised that this headset’s Hybrid ANC is ideal for competitive gaming, where every sound can make the difference between victory and defeat.

Additionally, the headset’s two-mic Noise Cancellation technology ensures that only your voice is picked up during gameplay, eliminating unwanted ambient noise. Your voice will remain clear to your teammates, whether in a loud or quiet environment. This system distinguishes verbal and non-verbal audio, optimising communication in team-based games.

Comfort meets performance

Comfort is a top priority for extended gaming sessions, and the Alienware Pro Headset does not disappoint. It features soft memory foam leatherette earcups that provide a snug fit, reducing pressure on your ears while isolating sound. These earcups also help improve overall audio quality by sealing in the sound, allowing you to hear every in-game detail without distraction.

Gamers will also appreciate the headset’s versatility in terms of connectivity. The Pro Headset supports three different connection modes: USB-C, Bluetooth 5.3, and 2.4GHz wireless, making it compatible with various devices, including PCs, mobile phones, and gaming consoles. The battery life varies depending on how you connect: up to 70 hours on a 2.4GHz connection with ANC off, 35 hours with ANC on, or 75 hours when using Bluetooth with ANC off at default volume. This long battery life ensures you can game for extended periods without the worry of frequent recharging.

A competitive edge for FPS games

Alienware’s collaboration with Team Liquid and other eSports professionals has significantly influenced the design of this headset, particularly with first-person shooter (FPS) games in mind. In FPS games, accurate audio cues are essential, whether determining the direction of enemy footsteps or identifying where shots are coming from. The 360-degree directional and vertical audio the Pro Headset provides gives players a competitive edge, allowing for more precise in-game reactions.

The advanced audio features, paired with the lightweight and durable graphene-coated drivers, deliver a crisp and responsive sound experience, making this headset particularly appealing for serious gamers. As Alienware points out, these attributes make the Pro Headset an excellent choice for FPS players who rely on pinpointing sound from various directions and heights to excel in competitive gameplay.

When it releases in October, the Alienware Pro Headset is poised to become a strong contender in the gaming headset market. With its combination of cutting-edge technology, comfortable design, and eSports influence, it promises to elevate the gaming experience for players at all levels.
