POCO launches entry-level C71 smartphone in Singapore with premium features

POCO launches the budget-friendly C71 smartphone in Singapore, offering premium design, enhanced cameras, and smooth performance at S$109.

POCO has introduced the POCO C71 in Singapore, aiming to redefine expectations within the entry-level smartphone market. The device combines a modern, flagship-inspired design with hardware typically reserved for higher-end models. The smartphone is tailored for budget-conscious users who still want quality features, offering a large cinematic display, upgraded camera system, and solid performance at an accessible price.

According to Angus Ng, Head of Product Marketing at POCO Global, the new handset sets “a new standard in entry-level smartphones,” delivering a device that is “flagship-level” in appearance and performance, yet designed for affordability.

Enhanced visuals and performance for daily use

At the heart of the POCO C71 is the UNISOC T7250 octa-core chipset, which delivers up to 83% improved performance compared to its predecessor. The smartphone scores 266,353 on the AnTuTu benchmark, promising faster app loading and improved multitasking. Storage configurations go up to 128GB, with an additional 8GB available through memory expansion, making it well-suited for users who consume and store large amounts of media.

Its 6.88-inch display offers a 1640×720 resolution with a wide 20.5:9 aspect ratio and a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The device also includes a 120Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate, providing smoother visuals across different applications. To support user comfort during extended use, the screen has received multiple TÜV Rheinland certifications, including Low Blue Light, Flicker-Free, and Circadian Friendly, all contributing to reduced eye strain. A DC dimming feature further ensures flicker-free viewing even in low light.

High-resolution cameras and a polished design

POCO C71 comes equipped with a 32MP AI dual camera system, designed to capture bright and detailed images even in dimly lit environments. The rear sensor collects 18% more light than previous models, improving clarity in night shots. The front-facing 8MP selfie camera includes a fill light function, enhancing portraits taken in darker settings.

Visually, the phone sports a slim 8.26mm profile and is available in three colours: Black, Gold, and Blue. It features a stylish camera housing and a modern flat-edge design, making it stand out in the budget segment.

Battery life and convenience features built for everyday use

With a 5,200mAh (typical) battery, the POCO C71 is designed for endurance. It supports over 20 hours of video playback or more than 9 hours of mobile gaming on a single charge. The device includes 15W fast charging and has been tested to retain healthy battery capacity even after 1,000 full charge cycles. Durability is further emphasised through rigorous testing of the USB Type-C port and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The handset also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and supports AI-powered facial recognition for added convenience and security.

Availability and pricing details

The POCO C71 is available in Singapore in Black, Gold, and Blue, with a 4GB RAM and 128GB storage configuration. Retailing at S$109, the phone is offered at a promotional price of S$99 from 24 April to 8 May via mi.com, Shopee, and Lazada. The promotion includes a S$10 voucher and will run while stocks last.
