Venture capital fund, Nest Tech, has invested an undisclosed sum in Singapore food and beverage technology startup, Waitrr, in its pre-series A round.

This investment will help Waitrr expand its operations in Southeast Asia, particularly in Vietnam and Myanmar, given the VC’s presence in those countries.

Founded in 2015, the startup claims to have partnered with over 200 restaurants in Singapore and works with F&B outlets like The Daily Cut, Guzman y Gomez, and Da Paolo Gastronomia to improve their takeaway and dining service. Their food-ordering app allows restaurants to offer automated order-taking and payment processing which helps to increase floor staff efficiency by 40 percent and table turnover rates by 20 percent on average.

The startup is already working with Nets and OCBC, to allow app users to pay for orders with NetsPay and OCBC Pay Anyone.

This deal marks Nest Tech’s third investment in Singapore and its debut in the F&B tech space.
