Sony unveils redesigned Xperia 10 VII with advanced camera and longer support

Sony has launched the Xperia 10 VII with upgraded cameras, longer software support and a refined design for a better user experience.

Sony has introduced the Xperia 10 VII, the latest model in its popular 10 series, featuring an upgraded design and improved performance. The new smartphone comes with a dedicated camera shutter button for quick shooting, a larger display, front-facing stereo speakers and a long-lasting battery capable of running for up to two days on a single charge. Sony has also extended the duration of security updates and operating system upgrades, providing users with longer support than previous models.

One of the key enhancements is the dedicated shutter button, placed on the side of the device. Even when the screen is locked, a long press instantly opens the camera app, ensuring important moments are never missed. The Xperia 10 VII also features new and larger sensors, with the 24mm lens fitted with a 1/1.56-inch sensor that is 1.6 times bigger than the previous generation, improving image clarity in low-light conditions. The dual rear cameras offer three focal lengths — 16mm ultra-wide, 24mm wide, and 48mm zoom — giving users greater creative flexibility.

Improved performance and future-ready features

Powering the Xperia 10 VII is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, which delivers smoother browsing, faster video loading and better multitasking. The device is built for long-term use with up to six years of security updates and four major Android version upgrades, offering peace of mind for customers who prefer to keep their phones for several years. Sony’s Adaptive Charging technology also helps preserve battery health over time, reducing degradation even after four years of use.

The smartphone introduces AI-powered features such as Circle to Search with Google, which allows users to highlight, circle or tap on-screen content to look up information without switching apps. It also integrates Google Gemini, an AI assistant that can help with tasks like planning, learning and idea generation. Users can access Gemini directly by holding the power button.

Enhanced viewing and audio experience

Sony has refined the entertainment experience with a taller 19.5:9 display and support for a 120Hz refresh rate, ensuring smoother scrolling and video playback. The newly designed front-facing speakers deliver deeper bass and clearer mid-range audio, with improved cabinet vibration control to reduce distortion. Bluetooth transmission power has been doubled compared to the previous model, providing a more reliable wireless audio connection. The device can also adjust sound quality dynamically during AAC connections to maintain stable playback in crowded areas.

Weighing just 168g, the Xperia 10 VII has a lighter and slimmer body with an updated rear design, featuring a matte finish and restructured camera layout for a cleaner look. The screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for greater durability against drops and scratches.

Sustainability and availability

Sony has focused on eco-friendly materials, using its proprietary blended paper for packaging to eliminate plastic from individual boxes. Around 77% of the raw materials used in some components are recycled or plant-derived resins, including the company’s SORPLAS recycled plastic.

The Xperia 10 VII is available in White, Turquoise and Charcoal Black from 1 October 2025. Early bird buyers can enjoy a promotional bundle that includes Sony’s LinkBuds Speaker worth S$299 and an Xperia 10 VII case worth S$50. Stocks are expected to arrive in stores from mid-October.
