Sony’s Reon Pocket Pro helps you beat the heat with smarter cooling tech

Stay cool with Sony's smarter, quieter Reon Pocket Pro, now with better battery life, airflow, and comfort — perfect for hot days.

As the temperature rises, you’re looking for ways to stay cool without relying solely on air conditioning. Sony has introduced a new wearable device that might be just what you need — the Reon Pocket Pro. This updated model builds on the success of the Reon Pocket 5 and comes at the perfect time, especially with Singapore’s weather showing no signs of letting up.

The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) has warned that 2024 has already brought extreme heat, dry spells, and low rainfall. And things aren’t improving much — the final two weeks of May are expected to hit daily highs of around 34°C, even with occasional rain.

Smarter features and stronger performance

The Reon Pocket Pro stands out with several upgrades designed to keep you more comfortable in hot weather. Sony has equipped this latest version with two independent thermo-modules, paired with a newly developed fan that delivers nearly double the airflow of the previous model.

Cooling is not just stronger — it’s also smarter. The device uses sensors to measure your body temperature, movement, and even humidity levels in your surroundings. Then, it adjusts the cooling power automatically in what Sony calls Smart Cool mode. This means you don’t need to keep switching settings throughout the day. With this smart mode turned on, the Reon Pocket Pro can last up to 15 hours on a full charge.

Do you prefer manual control? The standard Cool mode at level one gives you up to 34 hours of use, more than triple the 10-hour rating of the older Reon Pocket 5. Either way, this little device is built for all-day comfort.

Another major improvement is the cooling surface. Sony says it has doubled the contact area compared to the previous model, helping you cool down more quickly and effectively. The new curved design also means it sits more naturally against your body, especially around the neck. A silicone extension at the band’s tip helps it fit better and more comfortably, even if you wear it all day.

The noise levels have also been cut in half, making it quiet enough for work, commuting, or relaxing at home. And yes — it still warms you up in cold weather. But in Singapore’s climate, the cooling function truly shines.

Price, release, and early deals

If you’re considering getting one, you won’t have to wait long. The Sony Reon Pocket Pro will be available in Singapore starting May 2025 for S$329. It will first be available on Sony’s official online store and in Sony retail outlets.

Starting June 1, you can buy it through Sony’s Lazada and Shopee stores. If you’re a My Sony Rewards Member, don’t miss the early bird promotion — from May 20 to June 30, 2025, you can get S$20 off your purchase.

Sony has released a new carry case for S$45 alongside the device. It’s custom-built to hold the main unit, USB charging cable, air-vent cover, and even older models like the Reon Pocket 5. A Velcro strap helps keep everything in place.

Whether outdoors or working in warm indoor conditions, the Reon Pocket Pro smartly manages heat and keeps you comfortable all day.
