BenQ unveils new PD Series monitors with 5K and 4K 144Hz displays for creative professionals

BenQ launches PD2730S and PD3226G monitors with 5K and 4K 144Hz displays, offering unmatched colour accuracy and workflow tools for designers.

BenQ has launched two new monitors in its PD Designer Series, aimed at creative professionals seeking colour precision and visual clarity. The PD2730S and PD3226G are built to meet the needs of 3D artists, VFX animators, concept designers, and game developers. The 27-inch PD2730S features 5K resolution, while the 32-inch PD3226G offers 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate. Both models support refined colour reproduction and enhanced shadow detail, enabling users to design and render intricate scenes with exceptional accuracy.

Peter Huang, President of BenQ Corporation, stated, “Our new PD Series models are designed to make visual creations easier for creative professionals with ‘Always Accurate and Consistent Colors’. By addressing colour inconsistencies, shadow precision, and workflow efficiency, our groundbreaking monitors deliver unmatched accuracy and performance for 3D rendering, VFX production, and game design to bring your vision to life.”

Colour accuracy and contrast designed for precision work

The PD2730S monitor stands out with its 5K resolution and a pixel density of 218 PPI, combined with a 2000:1 contrast ratio. This combination ensures sharp visuals and nuanced shadow details, making it especially valuable for professionals working with high-resolution assets and intricate details. BenQ’s dark tone reproduction technology allows both PD2730S and PD3226G to deliver deep, realistic shadows, offering users a richer sense of depth and realism—particularly valuable in gaming environments and character development.

For studios and freelancers alike, the monitors support consistent colour reproduction throughout the design and delivery process. With BenQ’s AQCOLOR technology integrated into the PD Series, users can rely on precise calibration and colour uniformity straight out of the box, minimising the need for frequent recalibration and enabling long-term consistency across projects.

World-first 4K 144Hz display tailored for gaming design

A standout feature of the PD3226G is its claim as the world’s first 4K 144Hz monitor to offer professional-level colour accuracy. Many professional monitors tend to trade refresh rate for colour fidelity, but the PD3226G incorporates Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) technology to maintain motion clarity without compromising on colour precision. This makes it an ideal solution for game designers and animation studios that demand both fluid performance and visual integrity.

The monitor’s high refresh rate ensures responsive and seamless interactions, particularly when using graphic tablets. Each pen stroke is displayed instantly, helping artists work more efficiently with smoother scrolling and more fluid animation previews. Whether in character rigging or visual effects, the ability to maintain both motion quality and colour precision streamlines creative development workflows.

Seamless Mac integration and advanced productivity tools

BenQ has also optimised both models for Mac users, reinforcing the company’s focus on seamless creative experiences. With Thunderbolt 4 connectivity, the monitors allow for data, video, and image transfer at speeds of up to 40Gbps, supporting either a single 8K display or two 5K displays through daisy chaining. This capability enables professionals to extend their digital workspaces effortlessly, allowing for smoother multitasking and more efficient rendering.

The PD Series also includes an integrated KVM switch, giving users the flexibility to toggle between dual systems, such as PC and Mac setups, without needing separate peripherals. This is particularly useful for teams or individuals working across GPU- and CPU-heavy software platforms. In addition, the updated Display Pilot 2 software brings customisation tools like ICCsync and Desktop Partition, allowing users to personalise their interface and boost productivity through smarter workspace management.

With this latest release, BenQ has raised the bar for design monitors, delivering industry-first features that cater to the needs of creative professionals. The PD2730S and PD3226G combine advanced display performance with practical workflow enhancements, providing a reliable platform for producing high-fidelity, professional-grade visuals from concept to completion.
