BLAST partners with Singapore Tourism Board to bring Dota 2 tournament to Singapore

BLAST and the Singapore Tourism Board announce a multi-year deal to host esports tournaments, starting with a US$1 million Dota 2 Slam in November 2025.

BLAST has announced a new partnership with the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) to host four major esports tournaments in the city-state over the coming years. The multi-year agreement solidifies Singapore’s growing reputation as one of Asia’s leading hubs for competitive gaming, while also firmly establishing it on the global esports calendar.

Dota 2 tournament to debut in Singapore

The collaboration will begin with BLAST’s first-ever Dota 2 tournament, titled the BLAST Dota Slam Singapore. The event is scheduled to take place from 7 to 9 November 2025 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

This marks the second major BLAST event in Singapore, following last year’s successful Counter-Strike tournament at Resorts World Convention Centre. That event sold out quickly, demonstrating the strong appetite among Singaporean fans for world-class esports competitions.

The upcoming Dota 2 Slam promises to be even bigger. Some of the world’s top professional squads will compete for a prize pool worth US$1 million. The tournament will also be broadcast in more than 20 languages across 50 territories, ensuring global reach for the event.

Singapore strengthens its global events calendar

In recent years, Singapore has gained a reputation for hosting a diverse range of high-profile international events. From Taylor Swift and Coldplay concerts to the Formula 1 night race, the country has positioned itself as a destination for large-scale entertainment and sports.

The inclusion of major esports competitions now adds another dimension to its packed events calendar. For fans, the BLAST Dota Slam represents an opportunity to witness elite-level gaming in a live stadium setting. At the same time, international audiences will see Singapore showcased as a premier esports venue.

Industry observers note that this step aligns with Singapore’s strategy of developing its digital economy and positioning itself at the forefront of technology-driven industries. By hosting marquee esports tournaments, the city-state enhances its position in a rapidly growing sector that continues to draw millions of fans worldwide.

Fans encouraged to register early

Esports enthusiasts in Singapore and beyond are expected to show strong interest once ticket sales open. Fans can already register at BLAST.tv to receive ticketing updates, exclusive news and early access to upcoming BLAST events in Singapore.

With the tournament falling in November, demand is anticipated to be high, especially given the success of BLAST’s previous Counter-Strike event. Local fans will join millions of viewers online, making the Singapore Indoor Stadium the centre of global attention during the three-day tournament.

The BLAST Dota Slam Singapore is set to be a landmark event for both the esports industry and Singapore’s growing profile as a destination for international entertainment.
