ESET unveils new cloud-native authentication solution

ESET introduces a cloud-based version of its Secure Authentication solution, enhancing business cybersecurity with essential multifactor authentication.

ESET, a global cybersecurity leader, recently launched a cloud version of its ESET Secure Authentication (ESA) as part of the ESET PROTECT Platform ecosystem. This innovative approach marks a significant advancement in cybersecurity, providing multifactor authentication (MFA) through a streamlined, cloud-based platform.

Streamlined security management

ESET announced the integration of ESA into its cloud portfolio. This new offering is equipped with multitenant management capabilities, allowing for the effective administration of multiple companies or sites from a single point of control. This feature is particularly beneficial for Managed Service Providers (MSPs), enabling them to tailor specific settings for various user groups according to their unique needs.

By consolidating their security solutions under one roof, ESET customers can now enjoy both endpoint protection and multifactor authentication through a single interface—offering a simplified, cost-effective, and comprehensive security solution. This ‘single pane of glass experience’ supports many authentication methods, making it a versatile and affordable option for businesses of all sizes.

The critical role of multifactor authentication

In the current digital era, the frequency of data breaches is rising, with many incidents resulting from weak or stolen passwords. Multifactor authentication is a critical barrier against unauthorized access, enhancing the security of user logins and sensitive company data.

Michal Jankech, Vice President of SMB and MSP segments at ESET, highlights the importance of this technology, saying, “We understand how poor password hygiene can lead to devastating data breaches. So, with the cloud version of ESET Secure Authentication, we aimed to provide a solution that is flexible, scalable, easy to deploy, and above all, effective and affordable for companies of all sizes, boosting business data protection while reducing total cost of ownership.”

Enhanced accessibility and support

The cloud version of ESA is available through the ESET PROTECT Elite subscription level and as a standalone solution, maintaining the same pricing structure. However, accessing this service requires an account with the new ESET PROTECT Hub portal, which is the central hub for ESET’s unified security offerings.

ESET’s cloud solution supports various technologies, including mobile apps with push notifications, hardware tokens, FIDO keys, and other customized methods. This extensive support makes it easier for businesses to implement MFA across commonly used systems such as VPNs, Remote Desktop Protocol, Outlook Web Access, operating system logins, and more. This approach helps prevent data breaches and ensures compliance with various security standards.
