Exabeam introduces peer benchmarking to enhance security decision-making

Exabeam introduces configurable peer benchmarking in Nova, enabling security teams to compare posture, prioritise risks and improve defences.

Exabeam has launched new capabilities that allow security leaders to measure and improve their organisation’s cyber resilience against peers. The update introduces configurable peer benchmarking within Exabeam Nova, part of the company’s New-Scale Security Operations Platform, giving security leaders data-driven insights to guide investments and operational improvements.

New benchmarking to strengthen security posture

The new benchmarking feature in Exabeam Nova enables security teams to compare their organisation’s security posture with similar companies anonymously. Users can customise comparisons based on factors such as industry, region and company size. The system analyses threat detection telemetry and configuration data, then assesses coverage across MITRE ATT&CK techniques and real-world use cases. The results generate continuously updated scores that reflect security maturity, helping security operations centres (SOCs) identify gaps, strengthen detection capabilities and prepare leadership-ready updates.

Steve Wilson, Chief AI and Product Officer at Exabeam, said, “Security teams are done playing defence. With this release, we’re giving them the tools to go on offence. We’ve turned benchmarking into operational data that drives smarter decisions, tighter attack and use case coverage, and faster action.”

Chief Executive Officer Chris O’Malley added, “This release reflects our unbridled commitment to innovation that delivers real, measurable value for our customers. With benchmarking now embedded into Exabeam Nova, we’re empowering our customers to lead with data, drive strategic outcomes and operate with clarity and confidence.”

Smarter threat prioritisation and cost efficiency

The update also introduces business-aware risk scoring, allowing SOC teams to prioritise threats based on real organisational impact. By adjusting detection rule severity — from low to critical — teams can reduce alert fatigue, triage more accurately and focus analysts’ efforts where needed most.

Exabeam has also expanded its partner ecosystem. Integrations with Cribl and DataBahn allow organisations to optimise telemetry ingestion, reduce search and storage costs, and maintain full-fidelity data for both detection and compliance. In addition, the company has deepened its collaboration with Google Cloud by adding agent behaviour analytics. This brings insider threat detection to AI agents by using telemetry from Google Agentspace and Google Cloud Model Armor, offering visibility into digital insiders and emerging hybrid threats.

Positive feedback from customers and partners

Industry leaders have welcomed the updates. Nithin Reddy, Global VP of Cybersecurity at Dayforce, said the new peer benchmarking provides real-time context grounded in industry frameworks to measure, communicate and continuously strengthen their detection security posture.

Marco de Vries, Business Development Manager at Deltics, praised the clarity it provides, noting that Exabeam “brings something new every quarter that actually matters.” Gareth Pritchard, CTO at Sapphire, said the platform’s continuous innovation supports delivering top-quality security services and strategic value to clients.

Other partners, including Banyax, highlighted how the benchmarking helps drive board-level conversations with clear, data-backed insights. “Now I don’t just tell fellow executives that the SOC services we provide are excellent — I prove it,” said Carlos Alanís, Co-Founder and CEO of Banyax.

By combining AI-driven benchmarking, smarter risk scoring and deeper integrations, Exabeam aims to help organisations shift from reactive to proactive security operations, enabling better investment decisions and stronger resilience against evolving threats.
